To wonder what happened to these old Mumsnetters?

There was Kewcumber who adopted from abroad as a single lady, there was a mum who always talked about her son Wilf, and there was a very direct, blunt and often right woman who I think wrote with no punctuation, who seemed to be on every thread and gave me lots of harsh truths! Going back a good decade now…

Anyone know what happened to them? Anyone else you wonder about?

What happened to Bupcakes? She was on here loads when I joined.

KidsDoBetter · 02/04/2025 21:48

Cod very active on Twitter/X that’s where she holds court now. I loved her posts.

What happened with Riven. I forget

llareggub · 02/04/2025 21:47

I joined when I was trying to get pregnant - he’s nearly 19 now.

So many names have come and gone. I don’t visit often enough now to recognise anyone but in those early years I was here all the time. Parenting was much easier with a nest of vipers to support.

I don’t remember AnyFucker posting without grammar. The opposite in fact but yes direct.

What’s that about DoC? No way, NHS worker.

I think she didn’t use full stops or capitalisation? Something like that. It made it seem like a very distinct and memorable style

I don’t remember her name but there was a poster I often think about who had a young son and then found out she was pregnant with a girl very late into the pregnancy. The only other thing I remember was her posting her son had gone to bed one night cuddling a baguette 🤣 does this ring a bell for anyone?

@RitaAndFrank i went to a mn meet up in London and Mhaimi was trying to climb the walls in a bar 🙈

There was a lady called Marslady? She of the lemon drizzle traybake. She wad a nurse.

I went to that one as well. Very odd evening!

JaneJeffer · 02/04/2025 21:46

My faves are the ones who come on with a different name to mention their old name

😆 Sounds like an interesting night!

Yes, Mars’s Lemon Drizzle cake was apparently legendary.

Sorry that was to @LushLemonTart

Longdarkcloud · 02/04/2025 21:44

Lovely young widow with children who eventually remarried a nice chap and had another child. I loved following her story because she was so good natured and could be very humourous

I’ve never paid attention to any usernames on here.. is that only me?

I can't even remember my old names never mind anyone else's 😀Some do ring a bell but I couldn't independently be able to say someone's name from the past.

Xenia has been seen recently on the adult children section

I often wonder what happened to spook? If I recall correctly her exdh was some sort of manager of a band? Her threads went on for ages. I think that was her username?

Spook's threads were probably the first ones I really engaged with on MN. Her horrible xh ran off with some teenager in a band he managed, I think? I'd love to know how she's doing now.

I remember she married and was having ivf?

tigerbear · 02/04/2025 21:38

@AnyoneWhoHasAHeart was wondering about Riven too. The whole thread leading up to ‘outing’ her was an absolute train wreck. I remember feeling so sorry for her, the whole thing was totally out of control.

RobertaFirmino · 02/04/2025 21:38

Also Crumbs. I feel sure she was simply someone's exercise in creative writing but so unintentionally funny.

fromthevault · 02/04/2025 21:37

Ah, Pruni was indeed absolutely lovely.

AgathaX · 02/04/2025 21:37

I thought AF was a nurse?

sprigatito · 02/04/2025 21:37

I miss FrannyandZooey

RobertaFirmino · 02/04/2025 21:37

Does anyone remember Mrs Presley? I will never forget her story.

Pancakeflipper · 02/04/2025 21:37

I often wonder how VicarInATutu is doing.. little did I know at the time reading her posts about her boy that one of my child was also autistic.

TDWP - Complete nightmare but often entertaining.

And RIP FluffyDressingGown, you are still missed.

PermanentTemporary · 02/04/2025 21:36

Nice to see old times discussed. I'm 21 years in and still think about a lot of these, especially the lovely Pruni, harpsichordcarrier and aloha. I'd guess some drop in and some go cold turkey.

hazelnutvanillalatte · 02/04/2025 21:22

There were a few but are you thinking of EarthMotherImNot?

Yes that's who I was thinking of.

The lady was it bananafish who had a terrible time with ivf and losses ?

It was Bananafish81 and I think about her from time to time too. She was really funny and supportive despite her situation. We were on the same threads for a while (I had a different username back then), and most of us were eventually successful in our fertility journeys, but as far as I remember she wasn't. I hope she is doing well and had a happy outcome in the end.
