Owls

I have owl rage, and I need to let it all owl-t. AIBU to dislike owls and their twit-twoo hooting fuckery?

I know I might ruffle some feathers with this opinion, but a owl has moved nearby and every night I can hear it making less than whootiful night noises. It’s being antisoci-owl. Probably trying to attract a mate. The only time we don’t hear it, is when it rains as it is, ahem, too-wet-to-woo.

Local FB page weirdos say they love hearing it, but how I can I get the feathery fuckwit to go Hoo-dini without it turning into a Hoot-dunnit? I don’t want someone to talon me. Anyone know any owlchemy?

Owl be honest here, I love owls and the lovely hoots they make, but then I also love the sound of birds singing and even pigeons cooing, I think it's a soothing sound.
Maybe you'll get used to it?
It's be owlright.

Absolute bastards. There’s one in a tree somewhere very close and it never stops with the twitting and twooing. It sounds a bit haunted. I sometimes wonder what kind it is so I can think more specifically annoyed thoughts about it.

We have an owl or two which is amazing given we live in a city. If the window is shut, I can only barely hear them. Do you sleep with your window open?

You can’t get it to go without doing something illegal like disturbing its nest

don’t worry - they’ll soon all disappear anyway with the cutting down and removal of every bit of green space in this country

Don't let them ruffle your feathers. Try mindf-owl-ness and relaxation.

Owl right, Owl right, Owl right. Sounds like you're feeling owl-verwhelmed with the hooting noises owl night long.

Personally, I love owls with their beautiful faces and their twit twoo call so owl never be able to fully undertand owl you are feeling. One roosts nearby and when I hear it, I'm owllfully happy but when owl is said and done, it's owl good for us to have likes and dislikes and owlthough I'm not a doctor, it sounds like you may have...
Irritable Owl Syndrome! 😊

That's owl folks! 🦉

I hear tawny owls too and I like it. Sorry not much help

VWT5 · 02/04/2025 02:18

That made me laugh. I get owls just above my head most evenings - I try and repeat their call in the hope of a reply, but wouldn’t admit that publicly.

Could you practice vocalising bird noises yourself to deter your owly? - you could do something predatory and alarming, maybe European eagle owl, red kite, buzzard, that sort of thing?….and deny all knowledge when the neighbours ask if you are ok?

I love hearing owls but Ddog would agree with you. She hates the owls

Maitri108 · 02/04/2025 02:14

Sounds like you've got some Tawny Owls nearby. I love owls and I'd be delighted to hear them. Get some earplugs.
