To get “Revenge” on Neighbours

Doseofreality · 23/03/2025 19:19

Nextdoor’s children are “shriekers”, over the top girls (aged 10 and 6) who scream, whine and yell all day long. This afternoon they have been playing and arguing so loud we can hear them over all 4 floors of our house. It’s particularly bad in the living room and they are so loud we can hear them over the television.
It’s constant and annoying.
No SEND, they are just brats whose parents don’t install any boundaries.

AIBU to therefore stream Cardi B’s unedited version of W.A.P to my television and blast it out, repeatedly, at ear splitting full surround sound volume?

I can highly recommend…………………a chainsaw, or two! Ideally wait until you think parents are having a lie in, then get an urgent need to cut some wood. 😈

Or, tinkling wind chimes under the parental bedroom window, accompanied by a noisy water feature, running water will get them up and trotting to the loo at night. No sign of either of course in the morning😈😈

What sexual content???????

The song that the OP suggested blasting to them is disgusting and sexual

LoveSkaMusic · 24/03/2025 11:04

I think you should start learning to play the Tuba.

TheCountofMountingCrispBags · 24/03/2025 10:25

Oh yes, how witty to be blasting that song to a couple of pre-teens. Be an adult, speak to the parents

Instead of Cardi B, why don’t you record some of the screaming and shouting and play that back? Revenge with a message..

Or.....every time they scream op screams back.
Get your friends and family over to join in ....

morbidd · 24/03/2025 07:46

Get some awful noises playing.

I would get someone in to look at soundproofing that side of your house. I had a friend who owned a flat which was ex-council in West London, two flats knocked together to make a big 3 bedroom flat with a separate living room and kitchen /dining room. They had the whole place fitted with sound proofing, ceilings, walls and floors. Literally never heard a thing from the neighbors EVER.

That or move.

duckywoof · 23/03/2025 22:06

Thanks @ShodAndShadySenators. We're in the countryside, though.

BigDeepBreaths · 23/03/2025 21:35

Go for it.
What goes around comes around.

My neighbour used to have blazing rows with her daughter….when daughter wasnt rowing with mum she was playing piano (admittedly amazing player of mozart - but bit annoying when youre trying to watch tv), or partying with her teen mates in garden.
Then… daughter moved out and we had kids and it was 5-10 yrs of babies and tantrums and shreiking in garden, recorder practice, very loud nerf battles…from our side.

We have co-existed through all of this without a cross word ever. Give and take.

Catsandcannedbeans · 23/03/2025 21:29

WAP? No, some Deftones.

farmlife2 · 23/03/2025 21:26

The good thing is, you can be noisy too. If they aren't considerate, why should you be?

farmlife2 · 23/03/2025 21:23

Doseofreality · 23/03/2025 19:28

Done that many times over the summer.

That's assault.

Read the thread title and thought you'd taken the axing of Neighbours very hard 🦘

Same

I would recommend Rammstein for that purpose, much better than Cardi B:)))

ShodAndShadySenators · 23/03/2025 21:03

And when they do, you'll just have to hope the parents don't go and get several hens and a cockerel, as ours have just done.

Could be wrong but I think many councils have rules on cockerels in urban areas, ie it's not permitted. Maybe you could google your LA's guidelines @duckywoof

Glitchymn1 · 23/03/2025 20:53

Do it. Play the WAP. 🤣 Then Eminem.

Everyoneishangry · 23/03/2025 20:47

You don’t like the kids behaviour so will just join in and take it up a notch from loud to loud and inappropriate?
Unusual approach.
The kids will probably think you’re one of them (if they don’t already).
Good luck 😂

And Match of the Day.

i forgot Match of the Day.

Even more painful. That's dreadful with regular sound levels.

duckywoof · 23/03/2025 20:26

We had exactly the same with our neighbour's kids for years. Then the parents started using their annex as an Air BnB and the kids went strangely quiet whenever they had guests, which made us really cross, as it was clear then that the parents knew it was annoying and obviously didn't care about their neighbours. Sadly, the Air BnB didn't last long, so things went back to how they were. I feel for you, OP - out of sheer desperation, I considered doing something similar, though never did. Kids are teens now so have grown out of it, as your neighbours' kids will eventually do. And when they do, you'll just have to hope the parents don't go and get several hens and a cockerel, as ours have just done.😕

if you have a hose get it and hose the children down

And give them a bunch of daffodils as well!

Hallamlass · 23/03/2025 20:21

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 23/03/2025 19:49

Shall I lend you my dad, OP?

Deaf as a post, won’t wear a hearing aid and has just discovered his love for every single zombie horror film ever made?

Now that is painful. Thoughts and prayers 🙏.

I'm a bit nonplussed about why my (I thought!) very mild 'joke' about needing a stairlift to navigate a 4 storey house has been removed for 'breaching talk guidelnes'.

Really? How strange!

SpectacularBlahaj · 23/03/2025 20:20

Have you tried contacting your council with a noise complaint? If you’ve tried asking next door and they’ve ignored you, it might be a reasonable next step.
