Just enjoying a quiet Saturday night reading Mumsnet and this pops up!

YANBU: Mumsnetters are not the target market for butt plugs

YABU: I think I might buy one

Mine show Shoes/ clothes.. because my algorithms have picked up my searches.. so someone in your household have been searching for sex toys.. we all get different adverts.

Thats a Google ad, which is personalised, OP is showing a mumsnet ad, for their content, it’s basically dependent on what the topic of the thread is plus a sprinkling of what they’re promoting.

fivetriangulartrees · 15/03/2025 21:16

I only get adverts for mysterious bundles of what looks like dead animal remains, and a creepy wax model of a baby with wings.

The ads are down to your browsing history, Mumsnet don't choose the ads.

Again. Not if you refuse personalised ads.

I'm afraid that the adverts are related to searches and clicked links from your IP. Maybe ask your DH if he's been interested in buying one...

Yep. Mine are currently cat treats. Can't say I've ever had ads for butt plugs 😂

Ick.

Thank the lord for ad blockers.

How? I can't post feck-all unless I disable the ad blocker. (So I keep ad blocker off!) I haven't had this butt plug ad. I never get anything like this. Fortunately!

I’d sooner that than the adverts for Severn Trent showing me a pile of shit in a sewer telling me not to flush wet wipes in Hindi.

I’m not in the Severn Trent area, I don’t flush wet wipes and I don’t speak Hindi.

WTAF? 😆

Also @BellyPork YANBU. I don't wanna see this on my feed, and I don't think you need to 'lighten up.' FFS! Butt plugs indeed! Hmm

Evaka · 15/03/2025 21:07

NHS ad next door is apt. Second from the left could do some serious damage.

Yoheresthestory · 15/03/2025 21:06

Which one do they recommend?

graziya · 15/03/2025 21:06

The first thing I noticed is belly pork butt plugs. It kind of goes together
