Just enjoying a quiet Saturday night reading Mumsnet and this pops up!

YANBU: Mumsnetters are not the target market for butt plugs

YABU: I think I might buy one

PS I also thought at first glance that the accompanying thread about the cost of a cleaner was part of the advert. "I pay £19 per hour in London". "Yeah this is for regular cleaning". I genuinely thought for a minute that you could get your bum cleaned by one of these contraptions for £19 an hour (but only in London). 😂

After having to use a suppository for the first time in my life today, which was not my finest hour and actually made me heave, I cannot understand why people would want to stick anything up their bums! Call me old fashioned 😅 😂 I just get adverts for my local garage on Mumsnet. 😂 Maybe they know a prude when they see one. Ha ha 😂

I'm afraid that the adverts are related to searches and clicked links from your IP. Maybe ask your DH if he's been interested in buying one...

This cannot always be true, I had weird Temu ones for a while that showed really odd things like some weird creature with lots of legs. No one as googled that on my phone,

I really can’t see why it’s any different to getting any other advert for something you’d never buy. Currently I’ve got adverts for an online casino and some kind of expensive dry cat food. I don’t gamble online and I’ve never owned a cat, but I’m not kicking off about it.

They’re just sex toys. There’s nothing distressing or upsetting about them.

Someone on here suggested the ‘Brave’ browser as Ad block doesn’t work anymore and it’s been fine so far 🤫

Not sure you're right about the target audience @BellyPork, there are plenty of men who like it and a lot of MNters have male partners. Even some who have ED that are assisted by such devices. Shock horror some women use them too.

@Chester23 I get cat treats ads! Also relevant to me are clothing, men's shoes (specifically the ones partner wanted), hotels. Completely irrelevant heating systems and package holidays.
