Would really appreciate people’s opinions on this, thank you

Yes, it’s predatory and grim. An 18 year old is still really a child

alwaysdeleteyourcookies · 09/03/2025 22:21

I would hope they used protection and wonder why a 26 year old would want to go there tbh.

vodkaredbullgirl · 09/03/2025 22:19

🤔wonder if OP will be back?

tipsyraven · 09/03/2025 22:18

No. What consenting adults do is none of my business.

Cattreesea · 09/03/2025 22:18

I don't see what a 26 year old mother of two would have in common with a 18 year old.

It's grim, legal or not.

If she is after casual sex someone her own age or older would not be that difficult to find.

Dragonsandcats · 09/03/2025 22:18

Yes.

SunnyViper · 09/03/2025 22:17

Yep

Poonu · 09/03/2025 22:16

No

Diningtableornot · 09/03/2025 22:15

Best not to judge, but it could turn out to be difficult, especially if the children are introduced to the young man.

Pippapotamus · 09/03/2025 22:09

No I wouldn't judge. I don't think an 8 year age gap at 18 is that big.

Oh its huge. An 18 yo could still be at school, a 26 yo be 5 years post university!

GloriousBlue · 09/03/2025 22:15

Yes

I had a fling with an 18 year old when I was 23. I had just finished uni and he had finished college so we were both starting out in our careers (he wasn't going to uni) so although there was an age gap we were kind of at the same stage in our lives.

It didn't seem particularly weird to me and I don't think the extra three years makes a huge difference, but I wonder what they would have in common when one is a mother of two and presumably in a different place in their life with different priorities.

5 years age difference?

Pippapotamus · 09/03/2025 22:09

TheEyesOfLucyJordon · 09/03/2025 22:08

No. I have no interest at all in what other folk are doing when it's clearly none of my business.

JacqFrost · 09/03/2025 22:07

Yes I would judge.

PLHJ84 · 09/03/2025 22:05

Yes. I would be livid (and concerned if it was my son) the age gap is bad enough but 2 kids as well?!

Sadtosaythis · 09/03/2025 22:04

Yea I would judge and disapprove because at 18, to me, you are very young and not mature enough to be ina relationship with someone of that age. Saying that, a very close female relative of mine started dating someone who was 34 when she was 19. They are still together. I didn’t think it was right for her then and I still don’t. He is 40 next year and she will be 25. He was in a position of power in her work place and I would say it was grooming IMO. I think it’s icky and not right. Sorry if that’s not what you want to hear but it doesn’t sit right with me.

TwattyMcFuckFace · 09/03/2025 22:04

Yes, the age gap is far too big at that young age.

Curious to know why you're asking OP?

skippy67 · 09/03/2025 22:02

Yes.

Depends on the people. Some 18 yr old could be very venerable

Vulnerable or venerable? Complete opposites.

TickingAlongNicely · 09/03/2025 21:57

Depends where they meet.

In a nightclub... its not that wierd. Both young adults

If she was working at his Sixth form college... wierd.

DarkMagicStars · 09/03/2025 21:57

Yes. They are barely an adult.

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 09/03/2025 21:57

Tbh Yeah

I'd assume she had terrible terrible judgement and I'd pity the kids who are going to have to live her numerous and various (probably poor) life choices
