This is nothing other than Russophobia. Britain is doing nothing to fux its own issues, including immigration. British people are behaving like life's losers blaming everyone else for their problems. Have a look in the mirror before quoting the daily rag as gospel.

@Panterusblackish
Brexit was a huge coup for Putin and I'd like to see Nigel Farage's links to Russia very thoroughly investigated.

There are plenty of journalists who loathe Nigel Farage so I’m surprised if these links aren’t being investigated.

thanks @rainydaysandrainbows , I have read the Belton book & often go back to it, I’ll check out the other one

Putins done a lot of things but I’m not sure we can blame this one on him. There’s people coming from absolutely everywhere. It might be partly Putin but I don’t think it’s the majority. I have no idea what % it could potentially be.

Read the article.

I find it a bit suspicious when so called patriots don’t care about foreign interference

That's due to misunderstanding but predictable.

If people want to vote for a better way to avoid this they can.

EasternStandard · 09/03/2025 10:58

@Fawful I said ages ago this was happening, as a counter the idea it's not destabilising.

Just because it's news today doesn't mean people haven't talked about it before.

It's no surprise, people still will vote for soft measures here that allow Russia to do it. They just did.

I speak Russian. I went to university in Russia. I probably know more than the average having studied their society and politics for decades. Anybody who doesn’t think that Russia is playing the long game with US and EU politics is wilfully blind. Moreover the US also does it. Both countries’ stamps are all over the EU political gameboard and we are just pawns in their game playing. Both. Of. Them. If you want to be disturbed there are plenty of videos on YouTube about this. And it’s not conspiracy theories.

Very interesting

for some reason I guess mainly to do with economics we have decided to mainly ignore Putin he get a bit of a telling off and a few sanctions in 2014 but we continued to be heavily reliant on Russian energy in Europe

I believe European leaders need to take some responsibility too rather than drum up fear of the Russians

the world is changing Europe isn’t as central as it once was to world power and we can’t expect the rest of the world to care that much

Any books and articles rather than YouTube?

I'm not the poster I believe you were replying to but I've read a couple of interesting books recently about Russia - Putin's people How the KGB Took Back Russia and Then Turned On the West by Catherine Belton and From Russia With Blood Putin's Ruthless Killing Campaign and Secret War on the West by Heidi Blake

The UK PAYS Lybia and France to monitor their coastlines, and Turkey and Tunisia to keep refugees

Yes we pay for that and more rather than change the system.

I’m surprised you don’t mind Russia’s meddling, I wouldn’t have expected that…

Look around, it clearly hasn't worked.

Well it's not like our government are doing anything to stop it. They obviously want them here for reasons yet to be seen.

My local town has Albanian drug lords. This country has let the worst of any society in. It is about time that we did really look at who is here and what should be done about them.

Fawful · 09/03/2025 10:37

i understand the drivers for migration, but surely the situation is less intractable if you remove Russia from the equation

ArtTheClown · 09/03/2025 10:37

I've read stuff about this for a while. It's not even people at random, it's deliberately taking criminals and the worst people they can find - countries of origin are understandably delighted to get shot of them.

It's not just Putin at fault here, Western countries don't actually have to have completely mad, self-destructive, soft-as-shit asylum and deportation policies.

EasternStandard · 09/03/2025 10:35

Fawful · 09/03/2025 10:31

I don’t « want it stopped », I’m just amazed that people are relaxed about Putin undoing what they beg their governments to do at great cost

The U.K. is comparatively easy, the people responsible for that are here.

This is one of the oldest conspiracy theories going – all you've done is substituted Putin for "the Jews".

Have you read the articles?

Just reading the UK had a deal with Lybia too, £1M to help them police the coast. While « Russian puppet-master behind UK spy ring 'plotted to create 15,000-strong army of private mercenaries to control migration into Europe'. »
if anything else does it not bother you that it’s a waste of your taxpayers money, to engage with « securing borders » when there’s another country doing the exact opposite?

Of course some are annoyed by the billions this is costing. We just voted in a gov that will see it go up.

If you want it stopped you'll need a change to laws. People prefer not to so it'll cost.

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 09/03/2025 10:26

It has been happening since Tony Blair was in power. Clearly there is a bigger plan.
