AIBU to ask if you want to be my friend

Feeling lonely. No friends and I don’t go out unless it is to work or to the gym. My best friend died 3 years ago and has left a huge hole in my life. Is there anyone who would be my friend?

I've been to a couple of weddings like. One was a cousin who got married in Las Vegas and then had big party the following summer. The other was a friend where they got married at Reg Office with their parents only then had biggish party a few weeks later. Both were great fun! Good luck with your plans.

Hi op do you like walking. I have a dog he gets me out. Im 50s too. Feel a bit meh over friends lately. I bumped into one today. I said nobody replies now to anything. She said people are busy!

Early 40s West Mids and my best mate is 50 , age doesn’t matter .
My partner died in 2023 and it’s horrible feeling being alone .

Always willing to make new friends and chat x

I am an excellent low maintenance friend ( certified by a few fabulous women) and am open to all new people. 40's north east England but honestly geography doesn't matter that much.

i am early 50s but quite young looking and in my ways.

I lost my dear friend just before Christmas. We were constantly messaging and I could talk to her about anything. Life is so much emptier without her. I'm sorry for your loss. I can't PM right now. I suspect nobody can.

I don't know if you're not allowed to give too much detail, but would it help to put your broad age (like 35-40) and the county you live in?

Or is that not too important as you're only looking for online friends?

I run a charity and we get volunteers of all ages, many of whom have become close friends through doing so. It's certainly what I would do in your position.

So sorry to hear about your friend. My husband died this time last year.

It must be terribly lonely for you. How did you meet your BF and what did you have in common?

Can you have some friendly chat with people at your gym - that could be a start for finding a new closer friend.

As you'll know, it takes time to make a close friend. The spade-work is relentless but the reward is huge.

I'm 46 and live alone. I have lots of friends and acquaintances but no-one to really chat to and confide in. No one to drop random texts to. No-one to nip for a brew with. I'm more than happy to natter! xx

Hi, I’m always open to making new friends. My best friend moved back to America and I don’t have many friends here. I work part time, my daughter is getting older and I do have a lot of free time.
