A big part of the reason we've avoided it thus far is Russia knew America had Europe's back. Not any more.

If Putin gets what he wants in Ukraine and thinks we I dont believe for a second he will just stop there.And when he invades Lithuania or Poland all bets are off.

China has also been pushing misinformation and meddling in our elections from bot farms. Not just Russia.

World War means world war nowhere would be safe. I think your worrying unnecessarily. To quit your job and leave your friends and family over something that will most likely not happen is extreme. Maybe a chat with your gp would be a good idea

Er no, the US are trying to stop THEMSELVES spending aid money to stop Putin waging war in Europe, they actually don't give a shit about war in Europe as long as they aren't directly involved , but will happily sell arms to Europe.

I’ve been looking at options outside of Europe. No imminent plans to go, but I’m exploring what would be possible if I didn’t like the direction things were heading.

I’ve got Syrian friends I met when we were students in Europe over a decade ago (doctors, other professionals). One of them was always inviting me to visit Aleppo with them, it was just a normal place with a very nice standard of living. You don’t know what’s round the corner.

Yes but we won't perceive it as war in the conventional sense. Our interests will be undermined until it is too late to change anything and then I should think we'll all pretend it's absolutely fine because netflix is still on.

I do enjoy all the people who say “No”. Remember how certain we all were of that answer in 2016 when it came to Brexit and Trump’s first election. And how wrong we were.

The possibility of war in Europe is much higher now than at any other point since WWII. That doesn’t mean war will happen, Europe’s leaders are of course doing their best to keep conflict contained and restore peace. But it is not beyond the realms of possibility in the next few years.

Yup, Russia has been engaged in a hybrid war with the west for a very long time now. Disinformation, election meddling, assassination on foreign soil, and amped up recently with acts of sabotage

That still doesn't mean that Trump is ending the war. So maybe he will get Putin to stop attacking Ukraine for now, in exchange for the minerals to US and land to Russia - but how long will that continue? What's to stop Putin going back for more?

It's naive to think Trump has any plans to end war for real. His plan is to make more deals and make more money. It's naive to think otherwise. He's no philanthropist.

I think some form of war is already happening and has been for years.

Brexit, meddling in elections, a relentless propaganda and disinformation campaign. Russia has been actively working to create division in the West for years
