Pancake Toppings

Lemon and sugar has got to be the best. Lemon first then sugar so it sticks to the Lemon, rolled up and then more Lemon and sugar on the top. just has to be said.

We normally do a mixture of:

grated cheese and ham
lemon and sugar
Nutella and banana
dulce de leche or sugar/creme fraiche and stewed soft apple pieces

Am just about to start prepping the apples!

Two course approach here;

For savory - grated cheddar, sour cream and a little salt and pepper

For sweet: lemon and sugar or banana and Nutella normally, but tonight I'm branching out to cherry pie filling and chocolate!

Actually scrap that, one of each of the above is the best.

Half of them I have lemon juice and sugar, the other half I have maple syrup and cream

DP likes lemon and sugar.

I like Nutella and banana and Nutella and marshmallows.

DS like just Nutella.

Salted butter and cinnamon sugar is a recent favourite. Can't really beat proper Nutella though!

I meant to grab some nutella as promised for mine but completely forgot...thank F I had a white magnum in the freezer so they had that in half with rasperries and banana.

It looked soooo good but I couldn't even have a lemon/sugar one as I had an accident at the weekend and my poor teeth can only just about handle soup at the mo :(

but I also like Greek yoghurt and frozen berries with a drizzle of honey. I ofren have that throughout the year

That might be the ONLY pancake topping I've ever been tempted to try in place of my beloved lemon and sugar. Golden syrup already had a faint savouriness about it which I love so the addition of some flaky salt sounds like heaven. Unfortunately I do not have any GS to hand this evening.

Lemon and sugar IS the best, yes, and done exactly how you say.

I hate the word toppings though and I don’t know why. It’s one of those words that disgusts me - like dollop!
