AIBU to be utterly horrified that the US has cut off military aid to Ukraine?

I was hoping that it was mostly just bluster from Trump. But we've woken up to the news that he has actually done it. He's literally swapped sides in the war and is now standing with the aggressor, Russia, and abandoning the victim, Ukraine.

At least some Americans are speaking out against the decision:

Unless there is more moderation or removal of fake information I feel like reading mumsnet or other social media just risks filling one's brain with dross and allowing a mechanism for propaganda and conspiracy theories to spread.

Don't be silly. They have all types of backgrounds and religions in the brigade. While they may have been formed 11 years ago (guess why) by the far right, they are now part of the Ukrainian army.

They're russian speakers largely, from Mariupol. You know where Mariupol is, right ? Donbas. The ones the russians are trying to save/liberate

Because I am sure, and you're wrong. About 10k of those were military - Ukrainian and russian invaders.

I suspect Trump is jealous of Zelenskyy. A courageous, self-confident man who the western world hails as a hero.

Perhaps he even identifies with the older, ailing Putin.

Zelenski is in year 6 of a 5 year term. He is now unelected thus he's a dictator unlike Putin who was elected by his people. Cope more please.

Ukraine is at war and under martial law. Its constitution states that, under martial law, elections are to be suspended until 6 months after the cessation of hostilities.

All opposition parties are in agreement with this and the populace understand the need for it.

Please don't believe the pathological liar Trump, his mendacious sidekick Vance, nor the delusional, anti science conspiracist RFK.

Fully agree. Who is facts checking the fact checkers. The So called BBC fact checkers have been checked themselves several times and have been caught spinning fake narratives so hey!! Anyway, it seems that Zelenski, a deeply unpopular dictator in his homeland, is thankfully being forced to the negotiation table by the combined pressure of Putin and Trump, both of whom are strictly business and as they say war is bad for business. Hopefully many lives will now be saved. Any bored mom's on here wanting other than peace and boys being able to return home to their worried families need to give their heads a wobble.

from everything ive heard from Ukrainians here in UK and also from polls undertaken of ukrainians in ukraine, this idea that he is a "deeply unpopular dictator" simply isn't true??
