Yes, a country can go bankrupt—a few EU countries nearly did in 2009, which threatened to bring down all of the other countries using the Euro as their currency.

The US can go bankrupt if all of the bonds they’ve sold (mostly to China, BTW) come due and they can’t pay up.

Given Bigly's business record, with its many bankruptcies and adding in his current behaviour, how long will it take to bankrupt USA? Can a country be bankrupt?

Whilst it's very very difficult, I'm sure there are some clever minds that can find a way to tax based on transaction, not what they report as profit made in a specific country? Charity comes at a price. If you are willing to outsource your defence to some other party then there are risks associated with that if and when the charity stops/the status quo ends.

Maybe if the NATO countries had responded during Trumps first term to his requests on more defence spending we wouldn't be in the position we are now.

US help has always come at a price and has always been offered somewhat reluctantly and many would argue rightly so. See WW2 for an example.

Europe has had the option (and warning) to step up and has failed to do so. Now it has very little choice in the matter.

USA does grow some coffee in Hawaii.

I only know this as seen some of US left point out that right saying we can grow more coffee just isn't really feasible while technically correct and the price tends to be higher than current imported.

As far as I know, the USA runs on coffee. It doesn't grow any, not one bean, it all has to arrive from outside the USA. Perhaps they'll take up tea although that already has unfortunate historical associations and has to be imported as well. Dear me.
