Would you forgive a drunken kiss? Danny/Maura

Sadly seen the Danny/Maura incident. Really feel for his wife as I’ve been there. Dh confessed to me he had had a drunken snog at his works Xmas do. Very humiliating. I would have probably divorced him if we didn’t have kids. It was really painful given it was “only” a kiss. I remember just thinking how dare you. We all go out with friends and speak to members of the opposite sex who want to try it on. But there’s something called self restraint.

Danny is a first class dickhead. All that hard work in the jungle he did to come across as a family man who missed his wife and kid so much.

If I were his wife I would be wondering if any feelings developed in the jungle to lead to such a public kiss. His poor wife ☹️

Have you met him?
I have - and he’s just as nice as he came across in the jungle. So far removed from a dickhead he’d make even Trump’s Cheeto doodle look massive.
The kiss thing? Not my circus, not my monkeys 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

It's only a kiss. Honestly!

It isn't just a kiss, they looked far too cosy with each other.

JohnKettleyIsAWeathermanAndSoIsMichaelFish · 03/03/2025 15:43

I couldn't.

Purplecatshopaholic · 03/03/2025 15:36

I wouldn’t, no. The trust would be gone so that would be that.

ThatMerryReader · 03/03/2025 15:34

I would, it is hardly the end of the world.

LocalHobo · 03/03/2025 15:34

How ironic that he hasn't spoken to his df for decades because his df left his dm for an ow. Ironic and sad if Danny hasn't learnt from this.
Having said that, I agree with 'Cheek, cheek, lips' and then he appears to pull back, no? No excuse but surely no one can be so stupid to behave in an adulterous way with that many camera phones around.

It's only a kiss. Honestly!

That you, Danny?!

Reddog1 · 03/03/2025 15:30

I’d be more hurt and demoralised if it were someone classy rather than someone like Maura Higgins who’s a nonentity who gets about a bit. So not sure.

In that DM article it says “before he appears to peck her quickly”
sounds like a load of fuss over nothing!
although not seen the video.

He gives her a full on proper kiss in the video clip. It is brief, but he goes in for a proper kiss after a little straight on kiss.

I initially thought it was just press exaggerating the whole thing, but sadly the video evidence shows otherwise

a snog?
a long kiss?
what type

LuckysDadsHat · 03/03/2025 15:01

Nope, I would kick his arse out and he knows it. No going back from it for me.

the first headline (DM) said drunken kiss, then the article said peck on the cheek so I thought it was just clickbait, but then unfortunately The Scum has a video of it. I did watch it as you can't make an informed opinion on hearsay. He does peck her on the cheek, but then unfortunately after that, there is a proper kiss, where he tilts his head to kiss her, he goes in for a proper kiss. It is only very brief.

It's so sad, he came across as having such love for his wife and child. It just seems so awful that he could do that in public. They are in a room full of people, with phones everywhere, it's insane that he would kiss her in full view of everyone. It's insane that he would kiss her at all obviously.

I know everyone says don't blame the woman, but Maura knows he his married. She is not responsible for his behaviour, but she is responsible for hers and she should have stayed away from a married man. He is 100% responsible for his side of the behaviour.

'I did watch it as you can't make an informed opinion on hearsay' is me justifying checking out every tabloid story 😄🤭

Gloriia · 03/03/2025 14:02

Didn't look like a drunkern kiss to me. They look very relaxed together what with her head on his shoulder too.
What a stupid man, obviously there'd be cameras everywhere.
It's always the nice allegedly happily married ones too.

Agree. Since my comment upthread, I've watched the clip - neither appears to be particularly drunk and, while it's not a full-on snog, it's certainly a lot more than a 'peck'. Regardless, they definitely appear to have a strong emotional connection, which is the part I'd really worry about. Oh Danny... 🤦‍♀️

Tiswa · 03/03/2025 14:18

And if I were his wife I might well be relieved this coild give me an out from being with him that didn’t paint me as the bad guy (which he would have done IMO)

Agree

I have always disliked this man 😭😭 and now I feel justified (a very hater thing to say, yes)

I bet his wife is so happy she can he free of him, have her and the kids taken care of, and not have to put up with him

He's such a grifter

GarlicStyle · 03/03/2025 14:56

Yes, I would!

Sure, I'd be on low-level alert for any mysterious bonding activities with the same woman but, in general, I'd just write it off as alcoholic emotion overdrive.

This is a good point. If he behaves like that in public with a room full of people God knows what he is capable of in private.

Looks like the adoring family man was all an act.

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 03/03/2025 14:52

Nope. It would be over for me.

treesandsun · 03/03/2025 14:50

I wouldn't describe what I saw in the video as a snog - but it pushes what is acceptable - it does look she leaned in to instigate it but he didn't reject it.
That said - I can't stand him - I have no reason at all - just something about him that puts me off.

Willyoujustbequiet · 03/03/2025 14:49

XiCi · 03/03/2025 14:02

This is crazy. The article says he leaned in and pecked her briefly before leaving the venue. What a stupid fuss about nothing. Totally unfair to his family to make a drama out of that.

Watch the video. There was a peck at first and then definitely not a peck. You don't linger like that on a peck. There was intention. It was a proper kiss.

That would be it for me OP. No point without trust. He's an arsehole and she's an absolute hypocrite.

TheMorels · 03/03/2025 14:49

No, I wouldn’t. Especially not if I were married to that bloke, I find him repugnant.

V different I think - she asked his girlfriend first for starters!

Well, this article says it 'looks like' he gave her 'a peck'. I suspect this is a bit of a non-story...

FairGreyBird · 03/03/2025 14:41

It completely depends on who it was with, random person on a night out - probably. Somebody known to either husband or both of us - probably not.
