I've been in hospital for a small procedure which left me with lots of trapped wind. I've been home for 2 days, turned over In bed this afternoon and did a completely silent but REALLY long burp which felt like it deflated my whole body and all the pain in my upper back and shoulders just went. It felt so relieving and satisfying.
My sister once pulled a hair from her foot only to find it was really long and had somehow wound over and under every toe and when she pulled it , she felt it on each one.

Last week actually, I was in absolute agony from a terrible migraine. Couldn't move my head or eyes, pain travelling down my neck and even hurt to blink. After a couple of hours of this I was making deals with God to come and take me out because death would be preferable when I did the most incredible bout of projectile vomiting and migraine instantly cleared.

Omg! Me, my mum and one of my daughters all have this in almost the same place... weird!

Wow thats strange... Left or right shoulder???

Yes!!!!! I've mentioned this to a few people who didn't get what I meant...but one of my brothers also has it every so often. It's a really fine spray isn't it?!

Yes, fine spray but can project a surprisingly long distance. I've not had one for about 5 years. I believe I'm due one in the next couple years.

Or I could just follow the Wiki tutorial on how to do it on demand

I’m prone to a dust allergy thing that gives me itchy, watery eyes. Sometimes this causes a tiny bit of white mucus to appear in my eye just at the tear duct. Like a millimetre long.

What said mucus is made of I do not know, but it is so ridiculously stretchy that I can grab it between my nails and pull it a good 6-8 inches out of my eye without it breaking. It’s become quite a party trick of mine, much to DH’s horror 😀

BobbySox71 · 02/03/2025 20:02

I’ve had both hips replaced and bounced back. First one was when I was 49.
The surgeon literally opened me up dislocated my hip, sawed it off, rammed a stem with ball into my femur and sewed me back up. Same day I was able to walk to the toilet us using a zimmer frame.
12 weeks later I was riding my horse.
To this day I’m so grateful, osteoarthritis was ruining my life and I was struggling to walk

Two things:

One: I had one of my back molars removed many years ago because it broke and I couldn’t afford the treatment to save it. Three weeks later it was still really sore and then one day I saw something white poking out of my gum. I poked at it with tweezers and it slid out. Basically the dentist had left a whole root behind and it taken three weeks to work its way up to the surface. The moment it was out, the soreness instantly disappeared.

Two: I fell off my bike as a student and injured two fingers; they were bent out at hideous angles. Went to A&E and an x-ray revealed they were dislocated and i was told I’d need to wait for the doctor to come and manipulate them back into place. While I was waiting I thought ‘How hard can it be?’ and just sort of yanked them back into place myself. Obviously the pain was insane and took loads of attempts but the way they sort of clunked back into position was very satisfying. The doctor said I was lucky not to make things worse and also that they’d have given me pain relief if I’d waited but who has the time for that, eh?

You're a strong woman.Thats admirable, slightly worrying, but very respectably hard as nails.

I have this weird little recurrent blackhead thing at the top of my shoulder next to where my collarbone ends. It looks like a tiny mole but every few weeks I can squeeze it and gunk comes out. It feels so much more satisfying than squeezing any other spot.

Omg! Me, my mum and one of my daughters all have this in almost the same place... weird!

Loveanewusername · 02/03/2025 19:50

One morning I realised that I couldn’t move my nostril at all , I thought I was still breathing ok , but after extracting a huge huge bogie I could suddenly breath again- it was such a relief

and also some sort of abscess in my mouth, horrific pain, nothing touched it at all . Booked in for an emergency dentist appointment two weeks later. I read in an old body book that hot water on a cloth was good for bring boils and such to a head , so I put some nearly boiling water on a towel and bit down on it . It helped absolutely nothing, and I was so frustrated and in so much pain I bit down on this towel as hard as I could, and suddenly it popped and my mouth filled with puss - but the absolute relief was incredible.

luckily by the time I got to the dentist whatever was there was apparently healing nicely

HedgehogBob · 02/03/2025 19:50

I've suffered for years with gynae issues.

One month I was struggling with a lot of pain during my period, much more painful than usual. This had gone on all day. In the evening I popped to the loo, felt I needed to push and the biggest blood clot fell out of me. I was the size of the palm of my hand and passing it had that sweet relief feeling you get when you have that last push and your baby slides out of you.

It wasn't until years later that I discovered I actually have endometriosis which explains the horrendous periods.

I had a pilar cyst right on the top of my head for years, it had slowly been getting bigger and I was gearing up to go to the Drs to get it removed. A few days before xmas I was doing headstands with my DD and it was really hurting from the pressure and then felt a bit throbby after that. On xmas eve I had a long shower and washed my hair, when I got out and was brushing it I could see a white line sticking up from the top of my head. As I was watching it I realised it was slowly getting longer. I pressed the side of the cyst and all hell broke loose, the line of white was the head and with gentle pressure I managed to get spirals and spirals of cottage cheese like stuff out of it. I was honestly pushing and squeezing for about 10 minutes, it was all in my hair, my partner was gagging, my kids were screaming 🤣 I was loving every second and still think of it a lot to this day 😄

This is hysterical 😂

I'm picturing your family running about like headless chickens

Poppymeldrum · 02/03/2025 19:12

I remember being very pregnant and I had a boil at the very top of my leg

I waddled/limped best I could home, sat on the bathroom floor, propped a mirror on my feet to hold it still and peered over my huge bump

It was that big it had two juicy heads,so I figured I'd burst one and then the other as I couldn't get in with my fingers-i was too fat,it was too painful and massive-the skin was really tight round it

I popped the slightly bigger one-the relief, blessed relief-and while mopping up (what felt like a pint of pus) I went in for the other

Thankfully it had gone-it must have been one boil with two heads

Dp once had this blackhead on his back

It was really juicy but the sod refused to let me anywhere near it

I finally got him to agree and I squeezed

At least 4 inches came out of his back-it left a whopping huge hole in his skin-so I squeezed again and at least another 2 inches came out before it closed up

Was well worth the telling off I got from his mum who kept going on about spreading germs and making it worse (I adore her but she thinks dp farts rainbows and sparkles-its like being bollocked by winnie the pooh)

The lol - a big ingrown hair on my pubic region followed by squeezing some pus out - so satisfying. Haven’t done the sneeze/burp/fart combo but I can dream 😁

When you're older, you can do the sneeze, fart and wet yourself combo with no effort at all. And maybe put your back out too as a bonus.

PlainsOfThePurpleBuffalo · 02/03/2025 18:51

Pretty gross so don't read this if you're squeamish.

I got pelvic inflammatory disease from an old copper coil. I was supposed to have had it out ages ago, but couldn't get an appointment. It ended up causing this massive infection. I was very close to going into sepsis and ended up in hospital.

I was at the point of trying to pull it out myself because the pain was significantly worse than childbirth. Then the doctor called me through to remove it. She asked if I wanted to see it. I did. It was covered in black gunge. 🤮 I've never been so relieved to have something out of me.

Notsure94 · 02/03/2025 18:49

I had a ganglion on the back of my hand bigger than a pea so very noticeable if not particularly painful. I'd read that twatting it with a dictionary could make them go away and so that's what I did and it did! So satisfying to have instant flat hand again.

I also used to love having my ears syringed. Like having your brain washed.

NDerbys32 · 02/03/2025 18:47

Make it necessary to decorate a nursery room and buy a pram when we'd been told it was mathematically close to impossible that we would conceive without medical intervention

Giving birth both times the feeling when my body took over, I described it as the feeling when your being sick but the other way. I couldn’t stop pushing if I tried as it wasn’t me doing it, my body just cracked on.

Second to giving birth, I’d had a verruca on my foot for a year or two but it had turned painful. I attacked it with tweezer and squeezed the whole thing out in one, it was at least a cm long cone of verruca. So bloody satisfying I can remember it twenty years on.

I used to say giving birth to DC1 was like constipation and birthing DC2 was like having diarrhoea. First one was a huge effort; second one I had no control over whatsoever!

That thing where you squirt from under your tongue, it happens every few years, always by accident, and can never do it intentionally

Yes!!!!! I've mentioned this to a few people who didn't get what I meant...but one of my brothers also has it every so often. It's a really fine spray isn't it?!

CMOTDibbler · 02/03/2025 18:41

I love this thread.
I used to have cyclic vomiting syndrome where you vomit uncontrollably on a regular basis for (in my case) up to 20 hours. Once I was in the midst of an episode and heard a clink as I threw up for the umpteenth time that day. On investigation it was a bronchial cast where phlegm has set hard in your lungs and all the retching had finally expelled it. Truly the only highlight of a miserable condition

This may be somewhat outing but I once extracted what I can only describe as a TINY HORN from my belly button. It was made up of years worth of fine belly button hairs compacted into this teeny hard horn. It was amazing!

Something black came out of mine when I was pregnant and my bump stretched my belly button flat and I dug something out of it. I thought it was maybe a bit of my original umbilical cord.

the time i pulled out THE BEST ingrown hair out of my chin.. was HUGE

that and when you managed to sneeze, burp & fart all at once.. its like a full body reset lol.

The house brick poo (I swear it had corners) I had three or four days after giving birth to my daughter is still something I think and talk about five years later. It was ASTOUNDING. It hurt and i was certainly frightened, but the relief was amazing. I think I will think of it on my deathbed.

This for me, but it was 13 days post partum and needed an enema. The relief was like nothing I could ever describe or ever forget!

Tisfortired · 02/03/2025 18:13

When I was a teenager I could feel something in my ear bothering me but didn’t think too much about it. One day I was feeling my ear and felt something like a little string hanging on the outside of my ear canal. I pulled it and out came with it a HUGE chunk of ear wax - I can’t describe the immediate weird feeling of relief and how LOUD everything sounded. It was probably about a cm round and in the shape of my ear hole. I was staring at it in the palm of my hand for ages 😂

I had moved to Spain with my family a few months previous and I think it must have been something to do with being in and out of pools, the sea and the sand etc. Anyway I still think about it now and how satisfying it felt. My two first PPP’s (post partum poos) have not come close 😆

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 02/03/2025 18:10

I had the hair in the tear duct, had trimmed my fringe before going to work, I was begging everyone in the pub for tweezers(or I was going to the eye a&e) and finally managed to pull it out followed by tears squirting out.
Another poo one, before being diagnosed with coeliac I had the most violent shits(sorry) I’m glad it’s sorted now but the poo basically pissing out like a tap, was incredible if awful.
