Would you judge this in someone’s house?

I’m currently re-decorating parts of my house. I’ve come across a website that sells prints for the walls and I’ve found some I really like;

This house is full of love, laughter, and a little bit of what the fuck.

Pardon the mess, I decided not to give a shit today.

If you’re happy and you know it, it’s your meds!

As you can probably tell, our house is already a little bit eccentric with its decor… but would you judge someone for having prints like that on the wall with children living in the house or am I just overthinking it? 😅

I didn’t pick up from your first post that your house was eccentric tbh.
Generally I don’t like these ‘sayings’ on the wall. Although if someone writes them on the toilet wall then at least there’s something to read whilst there.

EvanBuckleysWife · 28/02/2025 18:00

I like them Blush I’d prefer something like that over “live laugh love” any day Grin

Talipesmum · 28/02/2025 11:03

I wouldn’t say anything to you but I would think they’re rather naff greetings card and also wouldn’t think it’s ok to have that up on the wall with young kids in the house.

Same

KilkennyCats · 28/02/2025 17:56

Irredeemably tacky. But that’s clearly not a issue for you…

NDblackhole · 28/02/2025 17:55

It's your house so who cares - no one will say anything and peoples thoughts aren't hurtful if you don't know - we all have thoughts and usually judgement thoughts come from a more personal perspective/experience/taught code of life...but since you asked I would like it but prob would get ones without swearing!

TheEllisGreyMethod · 28/02/2025 17:55

Incredibly naff and chavvy. Also screams you think you're funny and a bit out there when you're in fact v ordinary and a bit dull. I would cringe.

ColourBlueColourPurple · 28/02/2025 17:52

I wouldn't judge but they are very tacky.

Newfoundzestforlife · 28/02/2025 17:52

Vaxtable · 28/02/2025 15:27

I would not comment but yes it’s naff and unacceptable and yes I would judge you

At least you're honest about your snobbery....

Newfoundzestforlife · 28/02/2025 17:51

Only a complete and utter snobby D-head would judge you for some humorous signs in your house....If you like them, get them, life's too short to worry about what other people might think!

tuvamoodyson · 28/02/2025 17:50

Yes.

Bentoforthehorde · 28/02/2025 17:49

It's amazing to me that people can maintain haughty attitudes whilst going out of their way to be dicks.

Would you judge this?
a) Yes/no.
b) you sound like a try hard edge lord with poor boundaries and I question your parenting. How embarrassing.

Cutting strangers down on the Internet is pathetic, and telling people they asked for it is a dick move.

I'm not saying everyone has to be nice, just don't be a dick.

Tattletail · 28/02/2025 17:48

I wouldn't judge for the content. But I put these in the "live, love, laugh" bracket and would judge you harshly from that point of view 😃

But who cares really. I'm assuming only close family and friends enter your house regularly and I doubt this choice of decor would cause them to go NC.

DragonFly98 · 28/02/2025 17:46

Yes , sad and inappropriate for a family to home. It’s say look at me being a bit naughty.

Bubbletrain · 28/02/2025 17:45

Yes, I would judge.

Oh lord

i have a sign in the downstairs loo that says

‘please don’t poo in the downstairs loo’

(because it’s a macerater and it’s shit. Pardon the pun)

Wow, so you have the infamous as-seen-on-TV 'downstairs toilet into which we do not pass solids'!!

You could always try changing it for a Saniflo 33!

Elsvieta · 28/02/2025 17:41

Well, you asked... I judge anyone who puts words on their walls, whatever they are.

CuteKoalas · 28/02/2025 17:40

I wouldn't judge.

All the middle-class MN bullies... saying the exact same things. You think the same, you decorate your houses the same, and you cannot help but leap in with scorn and derision whenever anyone presents you with a chance to feel superior.

Don't take it to heart, OP. Enjoy your house however you choose.

The OP asked for opinions on whether they would judge her.
People gave their opinions. That is not the definition of bullying.

Bentoforthehorde · 28/02/2025 17:38

Well, this has been nice.

Get whatever you want for your walls OP.
You are the one looking at it and enjoying it.

One of our DC with Autism would be quite happy to never have an unrelated child in the house, so that isn't weird to me at all.

DalzielOrNoDalzielAndDontPascoe · 28/02/2025 17:25

I've seen people with signs saying 'bath' above the bath and 'wash' above the sink but never 'poo' above the bog.

Seems woefully lacking to me.

Op asked if people would judge. Are only the people who would t judge allowed to respond?

QOD · 28/02/2025 17:35

Someone bought me

live
laugh
love
don’t be a cunt

but I don’t have little kids and will eventually put it out in my bar when I can be arsed

DalzielOrNoDalzielAndDontPascoe · 28/02/2025 17:34

I used to regularly walk past a house where they had chunky white wooden blocks on the window sill spelling out LOVE, with the relevant letter printed on all faces of its respective block.

Only problem is that they were obviously arranged with the benefit of the residents in mind, so to anybody passing by, it just looked they were villains by their own admission, but ones who were bad at spelling Grin

My motto is buy what you love. You can't go wrong.
Don't buy stuff just because everyone else buys it. Those houses look soulless.
