I’m looking for a truly great spa experience, whether in the UK or abroad. I’d love to hear about places with amazing facilities, top-tier treatments, and a really relaxing atmosphere. Bonus points if it’s solo-traveller friendly!

Where would you recommend, and what made it stand out?

Dormy House in the Cotswolds is wonderful.

I agree with this, Champneys isn’t actually that great compared to others.

Perhaps it the one you go to but I found Henlow to be badly maintained, very dull in the evening, and the food was dreadful.

Another vote for the Woodland at Burnley. I also like Rudding Park, but not Center Parcs, the Sherwood one at least, because it only has 2 tiny hot tubs that you can't generally get near and it's all about the hot bubbly water for me.

This year I'm planning to try out the Crescent at Buxton but stay for a couple of nights rather than just a day.

Jadali Hotel & Spa, Hivernage, Marrakesh, Morocco. (about £250 per night per room + spa cost.

It's a lovely upmarket boutique hotel and a fantastic spa experience (and I've been to lots of spas). We paid £120 for the spa day - we were staying at the hotel, full Turkish spa/massage/scrub experience for 2 hours, then individual massage treatments: local tea and treats are served, and indoor pool spa areas to relax. Make a weekend of it, go to the spa one day, and dine in their beautiful outdoor bistro/restaurant. Also, there is a lovely rooftop pool and sun deck with a cafe/bar (no alcohol establishment, but we were okay with that). Hivernage is the Chelsea of Marrakesh; it is lovely to wander around and hassle-free. We also walked into the Madina (but it was too much for me, and I didn't feel safe in the main square area, so didn't wonder further in - although I've heard nice things about it from others). 10/10 loved it

Rudding Park near Harrogate - beautiful setting, fantastic modern spa. I've been to a lotin many countries and this one is genuinely one of the very best,

I’m thinking of heading to one of those. It’s the Center Parcs aspect that puts me off.

In response the the op, NOT Champneys, it really wasn’t all I was lead to believe.

Champneys. A friend and I did their 3 day break a couple of times and it always felt like a fortnight’s holiday!

Center parcs Woburn has amazing spa suites you can stay in. Longleat has a great spa too and you can stay in an apartment.

Pennyhill here too. Very similar vibe to the CP spas but just has a bit more!

Center Parcs’ spas are amongst the best in the country

I agree with this! Rudding park (rooftop) is good too but I would choose a CP spa over it.

Rocknrollstar · 26/02/2025 21:33

Ragdale Hall for sheer luxury - good food and relaxation.
