Cancelling TUI holiday

Hello everyone,

Hoping someone can give me a quick answer before I call them later on.

Got a 2 week holiday booked in Cyprus from 18th June for 2 weeks.

For myself 'D'h and DD.

I hadn't got insurance yet as we only booked it 6 weeks ago. My marriage has broken down as I've just found out my husband has had multiple affairs.

As the holiday is quite a way away still, what's the hope in me getting my money back? If the chances are zilch I'll go with DD still. I paid for the whole thing, in cash so it's fully paid off.

Thanks!

Ah please go! Enjoy the extra seat on the flight, sprawl out in the double bed, take your DD and bloody enjoy!!!!! Sounds like you deserve it 😔

Failing that, take a best friend and pay for the name change, you’ll have a blast!

Thank you, I looked at this but I don't put down any deposit as I paid it in one go. :(

I'm trying to claw some money back as it's going to be tough financially for me on my own but I'll make it work.

I'm trying to see on the booking if I did Tui Flex but I can't see anything about it anywhere so I don't think I did.

Just feel like my life is falling apart. Having multiple affairs while I was in hospital fighting for my life after cancer, on my own and he was out doing that.

I am beyond broken.

even though you have paid in full you will still get this difference between what you have paid and the deposit back.

If you can afford it why not swap to a nicer holiday for 2? A nice treat for you and DC.

That's what I'll do if I can. Maybe a week in Majorca or something.

I'm just broken 😞

At best you will be able to change it for a fee. A 3 week cheaper holiday instead? I’m afraid insurance wouldn’t have covered this anyway.

I lost my deposit. I'd go on holiday with DD though. Sorry you had a shite for a husband.

mitogoshigg · 26/02/2025 14:22

Talk to TUI, you are far from alone in this happening. They will talk through the options but I suspect if you can afford it, sticking with your plan is the best option

YouveGotAFastCar · 26/02/2025 14:17

You'll lose the deposit amount, but you'll be refunded the rest in full, as June is more than 70 days away.

If you want a holiday and can afford it, though, I'd leave it as it is. Removing him might actually make it cost more.

I'm really sorry about what's happened.

Christmasandallthetrimmings · 26/02/2025 14:12

As a single mum, the prices of holidays are generally the same for a couple with kids as they are for a lone parent with one child. Occasionally there's a small discount.

So if you're hoping for a nice holiday with DD this year, to get over what's happened, if still go?

Sorry to hear what you've been through. I hope you and your daughter can make some new memories.

Did you get TuiFlex?

you might be able to change the date but I doubt you could get a refund

nepobaby · 26/02/2025 14:08

Sorry I meant to post this in chat! Will request this be moved.
