Really @XenoBitch? Of course her face would scare little kids. That's not horrible. That's being realistic.

Sorry but some things just shouldn't be allowed. This being one.

My friend with Bells Palsy has also "scared" little kids. The fault is with the parents on this. Don't judge.

And you can't realistically ban someone from body mods because it might offend someone else. For fucks sake... the offended need to get a fucking grip.

I agree they look slightly ridiculous but they are only exaggerating their natural features. This woman has turned herself into an alien species (an ugly one at that).

If you say you find turkey teeth scarier than tattooed eyes and no nose, then I’m sorry I don’t believe you.

I think the person who is exaggerating their natural features is the one is being manipulated TBH.

The one is having mods on her own terms... and you are the on who called her ugly. I say she looks different.

XenoBitch · 25/02/2025 23:08

I think people who have extensive lip and cheek fillers look ridiculous. Combine that with Turkey teeth, and they look scary as hell.

Yeah because that’s just the same 🤨
She looks absolutely ridiculous and of course it’s a form of self harm, the fact you can’t see it is slightly worrying.

100% this. ^

@XenoBitch are you the lady in the mod scene or do you mean the lady in the article?

Neither, but I know a few people who have had similar body mods as the lady in the article.
All lovely people who don't care what you think.

BoudiccaRising · 25/02/2025 23:07

XenoBitch · 25/02/2025 22:22

And how does that affect you?
I have known people who kept their appendix after it was removed.

CHEESEDELICIOUS · 25/02/2025 23:07

This is shocking. The surgeon responsible clearly thinks more about money than psychological harm. It is not normal to look like that and no one of sound mind would want to look like that.

SemperIdem · 25/02/2025 22:36

But she is different by choice @XenoBitch, quite different to having a condition like Bells Palsy.

She (and all others who are into body modification) make a conscious choice to change their bodies in ways that will garner attention and comment. If you choose to alter yourself in alarming ways, people will indeed by alarmed by it.

Everyone is free to make their own choices be it having filler or having their nose cut off, but absolutely nobody else is required to validate that choice for them.

Dollydaydream100 · 25/02/2025 22:24

It doesn't! But we can discuss it ffs - it's pretty kooky!

C'mon XenoBitch
lighten up 😘

Fine to discuss, but we seem to have several armchair psychiatrists think they know better than a lady who has had extensive body mods and is into the body mod scene.

And the people who comment about how her face will scare kids... come on. That is horrible. I have a friend who has Bells Palsy, and she has heard kids say horrid things about her face. Teach your kids to have some tact when they see someone who is different.

HeyThereDelila · 25/02/2025 22:20

Self harm.

How?
If she wants to do it and she likes the results... it is not harm.

I self harm, and it is totally different to what this lady is doing.

WhatterySquash · 25/02/2025 22:21

If you really can't see the problem with projecting a whole bunch of assumptions onto a person based solely on their appearance then we're regressing as a species at an alarming rate.

And yet it’s not solely on her appearance, is it. it’s about the fact that she chose this and what the reason for that is. People would have different reactions to someone who had lost their nose for some other reason like an accident, drug use or assault.

We all make snap judgements about people based on their appearance all the time - I bet there isn’t anyone who can see who doesn’t. It’s how we assess our safety, who we might get on with best, who to approach or avoid. If this woman didn’t care about appearances why would she go out of her way to look like this? I’d bet my house she judges people who look conventional or boring.

XenoBitch · 25/02/2025 22:19

No one knows her nose is in a jar.

And if she wants to, she can have a reconstruction.

In any case, if she misses her nose at 50, or not.... it is up to her.

She literally said she keeps it in a jar 🤣🤣🤣

@XenoBitch The human brain won't notice someone's highlights or lip filler like it'll notice someone with an amputated nose. That she keeps in a jar.

She'll miss that nose when she's 50.

I dont think you should have put those pictures in the OP. And there should be a trigger warning. I really didnt want to see anything scary like that.

MrsTerryPratchett · 24/02/2025 20:28

Self harm.

Probably from trauma.

Maybe not putting it out there for judgement would be nice.

Totally agree with everything you said here.

BobbyBiscuits · 25/02/2025 22:16

Plenty of people do body modification. That in itself isn't shocking. It's a matter of taste. Same as boob jobs, pumped lips and arses etc.
Some just don't feel that a stereotype of beauty fits their aesthetic. Before she had bleached hair and was wearing makeup. Clearly she wanted a very different look. And went all in pretty swiftly!

I'd be concerned about the long term health issues with not really having a nose, but I'd imagine she's rationally thought that through. Not. The rest fair enough but the surgeon or whoever that did the nose must be a bit sick in the head.

WhatterySquash · 25/02/2025 22:15

Life is is much more than marriage with 2 kids, a dog, and a house with a picket fence.

Of course it is. there are millions of ways to live a life different from this and loads of people do - creative, unconventional, on the road or otherwise “different” lives. In fact probably 99% of people don’t have exactly that “picket fence” life because actually everyone is different and most people are pretty accepting of that (something that self-appointed “ooh I’m so different/countercultural and special me” types often fail to notice).

Cutting off your nose however is worrying to most people. Because it’s irreversible, fairly serious damage, and our instinctive reaction to it is alarm and anxiety because we associate it with injury - and as self-harm like that often is linked to possible MH issues, we worry that she might regret it and it’s irresponsible for anyone to do it for her.

Of course people make choices to do this stuff in order to shock and upset what they see as boring old picket fence types. The more they can upset and alarm people, the more they can tell themselves that others aren’t “accepting of difference”.

Sorry but I’m definitely assuming she’s mentally unwell, she keeps her nose in a fucking jar fgs.
