Watching first dates and someone said they were non binary and asked the bar guy what his pronouns were.
I just don’t understand surely you are male or female whether that be what you were born or not. I just can’t get my head round not feeling youre either. Can anyone please put it in simple terms for me.

As a straight woman I can't imagine being gay but doesn't mean others are therefore not gay. What happened to live and let live.

No one would have a problem with it if there wasn’t a constant demand to play along and modify our speech and thoughts for the sake of their feelings.

However you were born is how you remain. It isn’t possible to change sex.

Male or female is what you are and what you remain. You can of course present in lits of different ways- most women are non binary I think. Or at least gender fluid.

I am female but don’t wear a dress and have short hair. Am I non-binary? No I just like wearing jeans and having short hair. But if I was 15 id probably be labelled non-binary. It’s all a heap of nonsense.

BloodyKellHen · 21/02/2025 20:59

Gender stereotypes are so prevalent now that some people can’t bear to think of themselves as girls or women if they have short hair or anything else that doesn’t stick to the stereotypes. Similar for some boys and men.

Also applies to some who think they are more interesting than just boy or girl, and are blind to the attention seeking connotations around it all.

It’s a phase. It’ll pass.

namechangeGOT · 21/02/2025 20:59

It's what used to be called 'attention seeking'.

Magpie69 · 21/02/2025 20:58

Why bother getting your head round a pile of utter bollocks?

Ddakji · 21/02/2025 20:58

In an adult it’s infantile narcissistic nonsense.

Msmoonpie · 21/02/2025 20:57

Non binary is ridiculous. It just means you don’t conform to gender stereotypes. That’s it.

It doesn’t need a special name.
