I think it should be the guy from the first series of Bridgerton who left

Leo Woodall is so hot but kind of in a cheeky way - i don't think i can see him as Bond

I think it will be Idris Elba though

An acquaintance of mine in that line of business suggests its more like a buss ticket and 'salt and vinegar please and a can of Tizer' given what they are paid not an Aston Martin & a Martini

5 years ago, I'd have suggested Dick Van Dyke; but he's probably starting to get a little approaching the too-old side now.

I’m now thinking of “shaken not stirred” delivered in a bad Cockney accent 😃😆

And maybe James Bond the musical?

Edenmum2 · 21/02/2025 15:09

River from Slow Horses

I thought everyone had already agreed that Matt Berry was next.

I would pay good money for this

jasflowers · 21/02/2025 14:52

How can there be another James Bond? he died or will he re appear in a shower, to soulful music by Adele!

But if there is, it can only be Eddie Redmayne.

BlackBean2023 · 21/02/2025 14:52

Bind is a retirement role - you'd never be known for anything else. I expect some actors would consider it a poisoned chalice.

That said, Theo James is offensively sexy.

Alfie from Emily in Paris. Reckon he’d give it some edge.

Omg no! He's a terrible actor

I mean no offence but idris would be drawing his pension if he was a double 0 😂😂

Inviting the beautiful Bond girl to come and join him in the bedroom... as he can only just afford to heat the one room now he's lost his winter fuel allowance, and the rest of the house is freezing Grin

DalzielOrNoDalzielAndDontPascoe · 21/02/2025 14:44

Almostwelsh · 21/02/2025 14:27

Idris Elba is not only too old, but also too much of a big name. (And probably too expensive). Most Bond actors are not such big names at the start of becoming Bond. The same goes for Henry Cavell.

festivemouse · 21/02/2025 12:18

I've googled James Norton now - he just looks like he's trying to pass a firm bowel movement in every photo 😩

You're spot on! I had to go see for myself :))))
I say Idris Elba and he's never too old

PerambulationFrustration · 21/02/2025 14:12

They should now do 009, 008 or 006 and have diverse characters. Then no one would clutch their pearls screaming "A Black woman can't be James Bond!"

angelinawasrobbed · 21/02/2025 14:09

Henry Golding, definitely.

KatyaKabanova · 21/02/2025 14:05

John of Wessex, please.

JohnofWessex · 21/02/2025 14:04

Me

Fat unfit and 60+

But very funny and intelligent

Adamante · 21/02/2025 14:03

It won’t be Idris Elba - he is Luther!

I think it should be Aaron Taylor Johnson.

Daisymae23 · 21/02/2025 14:00

FeistyFrankie · 21/02/2025 12:04

Idris Elba and I'd happily start watching Bond films again.

I mean no offence but idris would be drawing his pension if he was a double 0 😂😂

DataColour · 21/02/2025 13:58

Idris Elba is good but too old now.

Lovelysummerdays · 21/02/2025 13:58

I reckon Idris Elba too. I watched him in hijack and thought that charm / sudden explosive violence would be a good fit.

Annoyeddd · 21/02/2025 13:57

Omar Sy (although he is french)

DataColour · 21/02/2025 13:57

James Norton.

Agree his voice is a bit too gentle and mellow for Bond, but other than that, born for it.

Aaron Taylor Johnson gives me the ick.

DalzielOrNoDalzielAndDontPascoe · 21/02/2025 13:56

Ant & Dec could do it together as a jobshare - outsmart the villains by splitting up in two different directions!!

ManyATrueWord · 21/02/2025 13:54

Jonathan Bailey is my nomination. He does funny so well whilst being incredibly charming but also does straight brilliantly. I'd like to see him as an emotionally repressed Bond.

Strictlyshortly · 21/02/2025 13:52

I was going to say Sam Heughan, but sadly I think he's straying into 'too old' territory.

KatyaKabanova · 21/02/2025 13:51

PeggyMitchellsCameo · 21/02/2025 13:50

I misread that as Richard Madeley 😂

😂😂
Brilliant! 👍
