To ask the worst thing you've ever done in anger?

Getting this off my chest and asking what the worst thing you've ever done in the faint hope of feeling better even if I don't deserve it.

When I had just left for uni, many years ago, I was devastated to receive several insulting text messages suggesting my then boyfriend was cheating on me and they also layed into my appearence and personality. I was so very hurt that when I found out who it was I "hacked" (read as guessed) the password of the culprits email, found several VERY explicit sexting emails from not only my boyfriend but a few others...in my (admittedly misplaced) rage, forwarded all of the emails to her family and friends, including her dad and gran. I still feel super awful about it to this day and can see EVERYTHING that was toxic and wrong with it.

What's the worst thing you've done in anger? For the record I KNOW I was unreasonable posting in the hope of hearing about your misguided rage.

So many things. I had boiling rage until I was about 30 due to an abusive childhood. So I try to cut young angry people some slack now.

I didn’t have a “great” childhood (abusive Dad, alcoholic Mum) then family member died and almost lost a sibling in a very traumatic way.
Anyway… it landed me being homeless at 19 so I rented a room in a stranger’s apartment.
I was spending all my wages on that room and getting to and back from work so I used to eat bread with peanut butter and jam on as my meals.
The girl (late 20s so older than I was) used to go into my room while I was at work and she’d steal some of my stuff, use my hair straighteners etc.
In the end, my boyfriend’s Mum let me move in with them.
I had put down a £120 deposit so asked for it back, the girl said yes of course as long as the room is in the same condition. Of course it was, it was pristine.
I came back from work that day and she had ripped a huge section of wallpaper off the wall in my room. She’d messaged me saying she’s done a room inspection and won’t be giving me my deposit back.

She was supposed to be Maid of Honour to her Mum who was getting married in a few weeks.
I cut that dress up.
Snapped the backs off all her photo frames.
Wiped peanut butter in every single one of her dishes and pots and pans so she’d have to wash them all.
And then I left.
I never heard from her again.

Ooooh, that’s cunning

My ex husband was having an affair with a woman he worked with. He wasn't even making the effort to hide it. They worked in the care industry. I sent an anonymous letter to the manager of the facility claiming to be an employee who knew about this affair and found their behaviour very unprofessional.

My husband got sacked.

I divorced him.

I feel no guilt!

I applaud you. Good job

Goody2ShoesAndTheFilthyBeast · 01/03/2025 23:08

I think the woman who took a video of her catching her husband and his mistress shagging in his dad's work van and posted it all over the Internet the other day has most of us beat!

Shouted at the bride at an ex boyfriend sister wedding as she was really mean to him. (Genuinely mean and cruel, many aunts & uncles commented) ended with me throwing glass of red wine over her.

She's a complete narcissist (him and I still pals & its 30 years later ) she has no one in her life now
But I still hate 19 year old me for sinking to that level and making such a huge scene 🤦🏻‍♀️

LovedFedAndNoonesDead · 26/02/2025 02:38

DBs ex partner was unhinged and vindictive. Months after they split up she sent explicit pictures allegedly of DBs erect penis to the phone numbers she had for DM, myself and our 2 DSis’s only, unfortunately for her, the photos were pretty clearly of someone else (giveaway was 2 chunky rings that were completely wrong style for DB who rarely wore rings; and a shirt that was definitely not his style) Anyway, for whatever reason, I was the only one who was able to open and see the disgusting photos - DM phone was a brick capable only of text and call but not receiving or sending photos; one DSis had deactivated photos as it was a work phone and the other one had changed her number; but the message to me showed who she had sent it to.

Anyway, because of my job at the time, I had no choice but to report it to the police who took statements and I had to hand over my phone to be checked as evidence but also to make sure there hadn’t been any back & forth between us either before or afterwards. Took about 4 months to get my phone back but was able to use a different one in the meantime although it also meant I had to change my number with work and friends etc for that time.

The upshot of it was she was charged with distribution of pornographic material because she had sent it to a number of people and received a police caution as a result. Sadly this wasn’t the first caution she received for her behaviour towards DB after they broke up having already received one for assault against him and our DF.

Now onto the anger part; she was mocking us for going to the police and said she would never stop hurting him for leaving her and would make his life a misery just because she could. So, I anonymously contacted her employer and told them they should look into the conduct of their staff as she had received at least 2 official police cautions over the previous year - she hadn’t told them and, when they found out she was suspended while they investigated it then disciplined and sacked from the job for not disclosing the cautions - she worked in a school nursery and so they definitely needed to know she had received these cautions!!

She never found out who it was reported her and, though she suspected one of the 3 of us DSis’s, it was the wrong sibling; funnily enough she left us all alone after that including DB!!

Presumably you say the same to any woman who claims she was raped by her husband before 1991.

Dont be ridiculous.

I was answering posters who said that what I did was illegal. I was pointing out that at the time it was done, it was not illegal. I didnt say that it was right, but that wasnt illegal at the time.

I answered the OPs question about the worst thing that I did, and that was it.

Perhaps not the worst, but in one outburst of (righteous) anger, I threw the vacuum cleaner down the stairs, kicked my printer to death (it deserved it!), stomped outside and kicked over the full wheelie bin. I then thought how stupid this all was, because I just had to clean up all the mess.

Missus messy indeed 🤣

I called round to see my then boyfriend only to find his partially clad ex girlfriend smirking at me from behind the door..think I was 17..
My parents had given him our old fridge freezer and some other furniture at the time.
I went back later with his step brother (who didn’t like his older better looking cheating twatbadger step brother) just after he returned from shopping and filling said fridge/freezer…we emptied it and everything else in the flat we decided he didn’t need…including his bed..

You had him lifted against your car door by his throat...? The rules of gravity don't even allow that to make sense. Not to mention a woman lifting a man off the floor....

I did the very same thing to a kid at school when I was about 17, he had been bullying my brother and I heard him saying he was going to "get him" at lunchtime. I charged over lifted him up by his throat and pinned him against the wall and smacked him round the face with my other hand and told him if he wanted to bully someone why not try me? He wad never a problem again.. so yes it is completely feasible she did this its amazing what strength you have in anger

I was on a bus heavily pregnant and with my toddler son. A man got on and was being very loud and inappropriate. Swearing, smoking and chucking bits of rolled up paper at people. Playing loud music on his phone.

I just snapped. Probably lack of sleep or hormones. But I just got up, snatched his phone, and posted it out the bus window as we whizzed along.

👏👏

I was 17 when my dear nan passed. The day of her funeral I ended up having a few drinks at the wake. My boyfriend at the time had been pestering me wanting to see me and when I eventually got home he was loitering outside my house. I was already annoyed that he’d not given me space to grieve. When he started having a moan that I’d not been answering his messages I saw red and started screaming obscenities at him. I must have looked unhinged as he swiftly hopped on his bike and pedalled like mad to get away from me. I still cringe at the memory of me chasing him down the road screaming. I was desperate to catch him so I could shove him off his bike. Luckily I didn’t manage to catch him 🫣

You definitely didn’t care for him like he cared for it. Sometimes you have to do what you have to get the pain out. Poor little sucker, haha

Not my finest moment.

late 20s and I was then, as I am now, alternative looking. DD was about 6 and every night I’d park on the school car park and cross paths with a pair of lads who were probably 18 or so. They collected another child, presumably a sibling.
every night without fail I was met with abuse. ‘Fucking goth bitch’. ‘Weirdo’ ‘Sweaty Cunt’ etc. This began to happen whilst DD was with me. I steadfastly ignored but after a month or so it was escalating with them walking behind me right to my car. I spoke to the school, they did absolutely nothing.

One night we were heading back and I’d just unlocked the door when DD said she’d forgotten her lunch box. She turned to run back and fetch it and suddenly my usual chorus was behind me. DD was out of earshot by this point and I snapped. I told the biggest he should come over here and say those things to my face, to which he swaggered over, mouthing off. I genuinely don’t know what came over me, but in seconds I’d thrown him against my car door and had him lifted off the floor by his throat whilst telling him if he ever spoke to me like that again I’d break his fucking neck.

When I snapped out he was almost in tears and his parting words as he scuttled off down the road, as an adult male, were “I’m telling my mum!”

He stopped pick up after that. Never did see his mum, which was a shame. Scared myself in that moment but it was a culmination of months of abuse I think.

This! Fucking well done you! It's always the wimpy little cowards thinking theirs a big man! That moron learnt his place. Wanker! Bloody good for you Flowers

TheFoz · 23/02/2025 19:42

My cousin had to bring her ex to court for maintenance, he told a massive lie that hurt her hugely so she emailed all his colleagues and informed them of the child he had that he was refusing to support.

I slapped my nearly adult DD across the face. She returned the compliment so hard i was still hurting 3 days later. We now laugh about it as neither of us can remember what it was about and we're best friends.

God almighty.

What knee-jerk, clichéd assumption @WillIEverBeOk - how do you know he didn’t when you weren’t there and that’s a common stereotype of some young and teenaged boys immature flirtation? It’s a form of negging bc they don’t know how to interact with girls they like and want their attention, negative or otherwise. The poster didn’t say specifically what it was as far as I remember (don’t have time or inclination to scroll back) but “Alright short-arse, nice glasses!”☺️ Is very different to “You deserve to be raped you ugly fucking cunt”😡 etc.

I’m not saying the poster should have been bloody flattered or he wasn’t a total twat, Jesus.

Now let me think. How likely was it, that it ever entered into my mother's - who was a married mother of two in her thirties at the time - head, that said teenage snot rag, was actually shielding some sort of infatuation for her beneath his daily barrage of insults? 🤔

Nah. Women deserve to go about their business without harassment from males of any age. Would it were so...

Italics are for emphasis. Uppercase is used for shouting
I was an editor of 4 clinical journals
A publishing director doesn't mean they write

Both italics and capital letters can be used for emphasis. As can underline. Its not either/or. Capitalisation is quicker and easier.
