To ask who is the biggest grifter you've seen?

I remember Anthea Turner punting flakes at her wedding. Carol Vorderman was always quick to front a financial product. Just seen Carole Malone on my timeline oiling on about weight loss jabs.

Any others spring to mind?

Mel Robbins! By a mile. On a visceral level, everything about her makes my skin crawl, right down to her performative glasses frames. She gives me major Narc vibes and I find her, barely concealed, simmering rage and aggression during interviews to be quite unnerving. On a more practical level I’m horrified by the fact that not only has she taken an idea from a poem by Cassie Philips and literally plagiarised it but she’s actually had the audacity to try a trademark the phrase ‘let them’. I watched an interview with her and her daughter and I felt nothing but sorrow on behalf of her daughter. Only person I know who could write an entire book about counting to five and get away with it. Guess I should just … let her.

I think you've just pointed out some individuals that are even worse than Captain Tom's daughter who was heading the league table up until now.

What would we have as a trophy or statuette if we were to organise a "Grifter Of The Year" award. What would represent a worthy winner?

My least favourite grifter of the moment is jack monroe but in terms of scale, captain daughter Tom and her husband are pretty high up in value and audacity.

Stacey Solomon. Quite how she's gone from an X Factor finalist all those years ago to now presenting multiple primetime TV shows, flogging everything from cleaning products to deodorant, and her multiple homeware ranges etc. is beyond me!

She's positioned as an interiors and home organisation guru but to me she comes across as fake, phony and just not very intelligent.

That's not grifting. She's being paid above her skill and talent level but she's being paid to do some kind of work.

Celebs - Harry and Meghan. Two people who aren’t particularly bright and have no talent or charisma prancing about the globe using the birthright he moans about to use whichever person gives them the most clout that day before moving on to the next fool.

A woman I knew in my 20s who projected an image of huge success and wealth whilst she actually shared a bedroom with her sister at her parents’ house, years before influencing was even a concept. Massive grifter who never worked but got PR invites everywhere and basically lived off them.

She’s set up a sportswear company, last I heard. Just looked it up and it made 40k last year, and she’s been made an MBE for services to fashion and women in business 😂

Good Law Project/Jolyon Maugham. They have about 40 staff and very expensive offices in Covent Garden but all they seem to do is write complaint letters and lose court cases.
Do the soft touches who pay for it all by monthly direct debit think they're funding some brave resistance movement?

^^This! The amount Jolyon’s outfit rakes in makes Captain Tom’s daughter look like a minnow.

Plus yes to Farage. And tbh, the biggest grifter of all has got to be Trump. Trump steaks, hats and Trump bitcoin, anyone?
