To ask who is the biggest grifter you've seen?

I remember Anthea Turner punting flakes at her wedding. Carol Vorderman was always quick to front a financial product. Just seen Carole Malone on my timeline oiling on about weight loss jabs.

Any others spring to mind?

There’s a cult in the next village next to me led by Master Sri. Who does nothing I know of apart from make instagram posts about manifestation. Has so many followers and somehow manages to get them to fund his lifestyle which involves living in Dubai half the year and driving a massaretti type car. Total grifter and I know a few people who are total followers of his. He’s like a local messiah.

Half the ‘actors’ on terrestrial television. Should be slapped by trading standards, couldn’t believe how awful they were when I accidentally watched a bit of Eastenders the other day. How are these people in such high paying roles?

Personally I swear by shea butter, but I buy it in pure form, from a company, that does not charge the earth, for what is quite a cheap enough product, considering the prices some people seem prepared to pay for 'miracle beauty creams'.

I think Boris Johnson is actually incredibly smart. I don't like him, and he's certainly the master of free handouts, but he certainly isn't a man of little intelligence.

Despite all the children and at least six women being wife or mistress, there has never been any allegations of being a sex pest or worse. Nothing equivalent to those about Russell Brand or Gregg Wallace, to give examples. So he must know when not to pursue any woman and to back off.

Russell is probably as much of a Christian as the Donald is. More likely it’s about buying a new constituency and getting the “ respectability “ and protection that claiming to be a Christian can give you, especially in the US.

Trump isn’t self made. His family have been wealthy for generations, initially making money by running prostitutes during the gold rush. Yes he’s made more money but there is a point where it’s hard not to even with some fairly basic investment.

I think you've just pointed out some individuals that are even worse than Captain Tom's daughter who was heading the league table up until now.

What would we have as a trophy or statuette if we were to organise a "Grifter Of The Year" award. What would represent a worthy winner?

Totally agree. I think it’s a bit controversial because ultimately they did a lovely thing by adopting him but victims of crime have anonymity - they’ve literally taken that away from him meaning he can never choose how to tell his story his way. And all this “He a happy to do the interviews” - give me 15 minutes with my kids and I could persuade them that smacking themselves in the face with stinging nettles is a good idea. The whole Captain Tom debacle. The interview the family did with Piers Morgan is a classic example of when you're in a hole, stop digging. Dragging their kids into it was pretty low class as well.

The Sussexes seem to be doing a pretty good job of delivering very little but making quite a lot of noise about it.
