Not farting in front of DH

Not really an AIBU but I love hearing what others think!

Have been with my DH for 18 years and have never intentionally farted in front of him. I mean I know it’s impossible to hold every fart in but he’s never actually heard one! If I need to I would go in another room or be discreet. My mum and sister are the same and a couple of friends. Also my DH is the same and won’t in front of me unless he does by mistake!

I know it’s natural and everyone does it but I’d never want to endure someone’s else’s fart nor make them endure mine! It hardly makes you attractive does it! That being said I wouldn’t fart in front of anyone… I mean maybe the dog!

Only by accident but always laugh it off ! I think alot of men think differently to women and just let rip, saying that my sister don't give a shit and will fart in front of anyone !

we’re a “farts are hilarious” house. I couldn’t be with someone so uptight as to hold them in. We were letting rip in front of each other by the 2 month mark! I also have a very farty pug whose guffs sound human. It’s never not funny.

I don’t get why bosses or clients get to enjoy a level of courtesy and consideration that those closest to you don’t. My ex used to say the same thing, that he would never fart in front of clients because it would be unpleasant… yet it was okay to do so in front of me?

I always say it's a compliment if I fart in front of you, means I feel comfortable enough around you to do it 🤣 There's certain people I wouldn't fart in front of e.g. my bosses.

Why don’t anyone farting? I rattle them out at will in front of DH and the kids, we all do. I have a high fibre diet id forever be hiding if I had to go in another room

Same in our house OP. If I can manage not to (deliberately) audibly fart at work, or on the train, or in the supermarket, in a restaurant, at a friends' house or wherever else then I can manage not to do it at home.

DH would fart with wild abandon if left to his own devices but he knows I find it grim and a turn off and he respects that.

I have full control of my sphincter so have never done it either. My rule of thumb is - if you wouldn't do it on the first date, you shouldn't do it in front of your long-term lover.

I didn't used to but pregnancy gave me enough wind to levitate. All mystery lost then and no getting it back.

After my ex, who used to let rip loudly, frequently and stinkily (sometimes doing so in a room others were in and then leaving the room himself!), it is an absolute pleasure to be with someone who has both consideration for others and self-control.

Considering my DH saw my body cut open twice to see his children being born, also saw me wet myself at King's Cross station in front of 100s of people after a operation that went horribly wrong, this doesn't faze me in my relationship. Grin

I wish I had the kind of digestive system where I wasn’t occasionally lying in agony and just need to let things out even if DH has happened to walk into the room.

I tried to but while pregnant with DS1, after 6 montha if marriage, I had awful morning flatulence it woke me and DH up i was so mortified. And I experinced it with both pregnancies nothing I could do. So now I don'tt give a hoot. Not intentional bit if it slips it slips.

I know -its been posted before and I got told I was uptight and our relationship must be terrible 😂😂😂 I didn't care but it did make me laugh.
