Reasonable length of time to clean bathroom?

It depends on why/if it actually needs a deep clean. I couldn’t give mine a deep clean that took more than 10-15 mins because it’s cleaned every day so there’s nothing to really clean. Every clean is more a more down.

If it was being cleaned once a week or less than I imagine it would take ages though.

Ok I said 15 / 20 mins max... I have floor to ceiling tiles. No skirting. Shampoo etc are on a shower gem caddy. Shower doors sink loo grout floors kept clean quick swish daily. So my deep clean is only adding light fittings doors handle radiator. It never gets bad it needs an hour...

That’s my whole routine twice a week, apart from taking the shower curtain down, so it takes no time at all. Maybe other people saying those times are the same?

Also, I should add, that a big argument dh and I used to have and which is thr main reason we have a cleaner... is that he is extraordinarily slow. He can tidy up very quickly and efficiently but cleaning? He once spent 4 hours vacuuming our very bog standard 3 bedroomed house and still didn't vacuum any of the cobwebs that had built up around the door and window frame our the juiliet balcony in the loft. We nearly got divorced.

I used to be a cleaner and I would say over 40 mins for a deep clean. However, I usually scrub the grout and shower hose (which is always disgusting), with a toothbrush!

As others have pointed out it's a bit of a moving feast in that there are too many variables. Eg the poster who said it takes her 20 minutes just to clean the shower hose... that would be me if I left dh and my cleaners to the bathroom entirely and then came in to do a clean after 6 months because none of them have ever figured out it needs doing. But I do, so i give it a good spritz every week or two and a bit of a wipe down and it never gets to that state. We have entirely tiled walls which can gather limescale in the grouting but again, if it's done as part of routine clean (it is) if I want to "deep clean" it's not a massively additional big job.

So a really really deep clean of my bathroom would be max 40 minutes, and a routine good clean is 20 or so. But if the bathroom was more difficult to clean or the routine clean was being done less often or less well, the deep clean would take longer.

Why would it even be an issue?

As you can see on here it ranges from 10mins-1hour.
So there is no set time.

It also depends if you’re taking your time or you’re going mad.
Sometimes I rush and get it over and done with as quick as possible and sometimes I take my time as it’s more therapeutic.

There’s a distinct difference here between a 15 mine superficial surface clean and a deep clean

for me a deep clean would be an hour because I’d be including all tile grout for example

I'm similar to others in that I have a routine clean which is wiping surfaces sink and taps, and cleaning loo, that happens a couple of times per week and takes 10-15 min. I do a fuller clean probably weekly to fortnightly that involves full shower clean, scrubbing grout, refilling soap, mopping floor, etc, and that would take closer to an hour.

Best part of an hour if I’m scrubbing all the tiles and grouting. There’s a lot.

I do wonder about this new "deep clean" phrase, has it come fromSM? It seems to mean a weekly clean for some and a once in a blue moon clean for others. I suspect the 10-20 minute responses are weekly, 30+ a once in a blue moon.

It used to be either "a clean" or "spring clean". We all knew where we stood with that.

I think an hour to do it fully or anything less if a "quick wipe round" is coming into it at all.

15 mins. I can't let my autistic ADHD partner clean the bathroom as it takes him all day tho. Every watermark, toothbrush on the grout etc. you can have it as quick or slow as you like.

Completely agree. From this thread we can see there's lots of different answers. Whoever is complaining is the person in the wrong especially if you can't even see that it's "due a clean". The person complaining should just do the job themselves if they're unhappy with the time taken

My DH hasn't cleaned a bathroom in our entire relationship of 22 years. It would take me a couple of hours as I don't do deep cleans very often and I never get the limescale out of the toilet and I've lived in hard water area all my life. I just bleach it if it looks mucky!

Ours is a similar size, normally takes me 15mins for a normal clean. I would say 30 for a deep clean. We don't have a window in so no window cleaning and only tiles on one wall.

Is this really the right question you are asking. Because who the hell cares what time it takes the person doing it. Just let them do their thang. If it’s cleaned. Great.
surely this is not the problem. The problem is the person comparing about time taken whether too short or long. There’s your issue.

How long does it take to move a toothbrush? Chuck it all in sink, wipe sides and wall behind, replace everything on sides and clean basin

Well yeah they are on little toothbrush and toothpaste hooks on the wall being held in suspension so to my mind they aren’t lying around needing moved for cleaning. Some people on this thread sound like they have massive amounts of stuff lying about that needs moved to clean.
