To be very weirded out by Elon Musks reproductive choices

I think he's up to twelve or thirteen children now with no sign of stopping and seems to have a very transactional approach to impregnating a series of women (presumably through IVF). It really speaks to looking at women as baby machines.
The colossal ego he has about maintaining his bloodline is so noxious.
I'm worried someone like him is so influential.
We'll be in the handmaid's tale before long.

I agree ... he is unpredictable and his father is no better .. scary !!

I guess it's how he's having the children. Doesn't seem to be as a result of relationships/flings. Very transactional.
It shouldn't surprise me though, US conservatives are very concerned with children when they are in utero, and not so much when they are out in the world.
It's difficult to imagine how he parents them or whether he does at all.
Then what's the point?
If the only point is gene continuation, it's very depressing and egotistical.

You're absolutely right. One of my favourite quotes is from George Carlin:

“Boy, these conservatives are really something, aren't they? They're all in favor of the unborn. They will do anything for the unborn. But once you're born, you're on your own. Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception to nine months. After that, they don't want to know about you. They don't want to hear from you. No nothing. No neonatal care, no day care, no head start, no school lunch, no food stamps, no welfare, no nothing. If you're preborn, you're fine; if you're preschool, you're fucked.”

This is Trump, Musk and his cabinet.

The latest one seems to have been a fling. Gross.

Everything about him weirds me out. The whole American government situation weirds me out.

Elon’s child, Vivienne, the one he has no contact with is spilling the dirt on their TikTok account. Says they only found out about two of their hard siblings via reading about them on Reddit.

So the newest baby mama has just being calling Elon out on X, apparently she’s been trying to get in touch for days and he isn’t responding. Her tweet has been deleted!

But how can that be?Confused Elon Musk is a champion of freedom of speech for women! I'm shocked! Shocked I tell ya.

Isinglass20 · 16/02/2025 19:15

Elon Musk looking to produce the Aryan superior race 😡

Yes. It's always one rule for them and another for us. The Conservative Party in this country are the same with their married tax break idea.

Who else do we know who cannot keep it in his pants and has multiple children with multiple women, some during relationships and others from one night things? Boris Johnson. Another sociopath.

I remember calling out an acquaintance who was always negative about “single mothers” but loved BJ. I pointed out that not only was BJ a hypocrite for previously writing an article critical of single mothers but he also creates single mothers. This bloke refused to accept that and was adamant “it was different”.

I actually think what drives birth rates up and down is very complicated. We know some things have an impact (education rates etc) but we have nowhere near the full picture. Quite possibly there is a mechanism whereby people are less likely to want lots of kids if they feel crowded, more likely to after a war etc. But every time a leader has tried to affect birth rates through forceful measures - whether that be ceasceau in Romania or the Chinese 1 child policy it's had massive unintended consequences. Programmes to make life easier for regular families are one thing. Men like Musk considering themselves on a mission to fix the problem, or men on the Internet doomposting Jordan Peters on rants and making wild suggestions for "what is to be done" are not going to help.

How can declining birth rate not be a threat to civilisation? I say this as someone with no kids myself. I agree with him on that statement. That isn't weird.

The population rate World wide is still rising. Let's say the low birth rate continued and the population started to fall drastically. People wouldn't sit around saying "my grandma had 2 kids, my mother had 1 I should have 0" they would most likely opt to have more kids. It's not a disease that is rendering people infertile (though plastic pollution is an issue it's not what Musk is worried about). This has happened in the past where Frances birth rate plummeted pre WW1. Emile Zola was concerned. It shot back up after WW1 (much more than other countries) and no one knows why really. That's not to say aging populations etc arent a concern in the short term.

But people talking about "population crashes" are using language usually reserved for talking about the dynamics of frogs in ponds or rabbits. The mathematics involved in those chaotic population fluctuations is genuinely fascinating (chaos theory and feigenbaum) - but not applicable to human populations. Some parts of the world's (Japan, South Korea) are experiencing plummeting birth rates but people suggesting that they are merely further along in the process than us are missing the fact that their population decline followed a very different trajectory. Finding out what makes Japan etc "special" could be worthwhile. Fearmongering that this is the future is not.

I think these choices by EM are worrying , but are similar to other choices he has made that don't align with what a lot of people in the UK would agree with .
The worrying thing is that he has influence within the Us Govt and with the president .

By these choices, EM is perhaps seeking to ensure that his family can potentially exert power and control for generations to come . That is not to say that all or even any of his offspring won't rebel : seek alternative vocations when they are grown . I suppose however the more children he has , the greater the chance that at least one / several will continue with his " legacy ".

He also has influence here through various politicians ( although even Farage has stepped back slightly) . Most importantly through X he has the ability to reach 100s of millions daily . Fact checking and truth aren't always a top priority . ...

I checked and he is listed as a special US govt employee , I suppose similar to a consultant BUT he does already seem to be exercising a lot of autonomy with little checks and balances in place .

In the UK , we rely on a separation of powers between the Executive ( Govt ) , Legislature ( parliament ) and judiciary ( courts ) . If one part is acting beyond their powers, the other step in .

I am no expert in this , but we can see situations where this has protected decision making here and perhaps others where it hasn't worked so well .

When these safety checks were put in place , we did not have social media outlets like X etc and it is very difficult for governments in the west to have any influence or checks over these to correct misleading info / targeting of vulnerable people .

I am not naive enough to think that there weren't issues previously with the media in the past . When the tabloids in particular could influence
millions with their slant on politics / politicians and had a lot of sway in voting during general elections here . These papers were also regularly run by very rich and powerful men .

It has always been the case that those who are rich and powerful will seek to align / influence those in government . Sometimes this can be with good / philanthropic intentions, but not always .

So I do think we should all be worried , but I am not sure what we can do on a day to day basis .

I did take some comfort when Trump was re-elected and brought in EM that as they both have massive egos , they were likely to fall out as both will be unable to be right / on top all of the time . I do accept that the US citizens exercised their democratic rights to put Trump in power . There are also checks and balances in their constitution and we can see that the courts have already tried to ( at least temporarily ) block some of Trumps decisions I won't even go there with his involvement in other conflicts etc .

Again I accept that even in the UK and other western countries, political decisions have always been influenced by external economic factors eg investments in oil .

The question here is the amount of unchecked influence that EM has going forward in the US but also around the world . Arguably he always had this , but not at a government level .

I suppose thinking about it , I am not sure I and others should take comfort from an inevitable fall out between Trump and EM . But what happens if they do - where does EM go ? If he is used to exercising lots of power / influence outwith and within govt , will he be prepared to give this up ? Will he then seek to align / be wooed by other nonwestern & undemocratic / dictator led nations ?

Which is why he's a fascist. It smacks of Nazi Aryanism.

Because we have 8bn humans and limited resources. Babies are still being born. Humanity is not going anywhere.

Musk is just worried about white birth rates but not even white people will be vanishing anytime soon.

If this was a family living in poverty, I suspect social services and the courts would be involved. What kind of life can this possibly be for a 4 year old?

He's lobbied for white South Africans to come to the US on asylum. I doubt they're not going to be treated like your regular asylum seekers if they come.

I read he did not say white South Africans but white Afrikaners specifically.

Weird how people can be so against refugees but make exceptions for specific classes….
