To think these drawings are pretty great for their ages. What do you think the ages of the kids are?

Lighthearted thread. 🙂

Went to watch Dogman movie with my 2 kids. I was asleep through most of it to be honest but the kids found it funny. When they came back home they started doing some drawings based on the film. I think they are pretty great for their ages but then again I am hopeless when it comes to any form of art !

What age do you think my DC are based on these?

Perhaps I need to sign them up to some art classes and there is some potential there that I wasnt aware of 🙂

Nah, just let them be.

5 and 8? However old, it's very good.
Really depends on the kid though... I am a truly awful drawer, but one of my kids has been incredible since about 6.

LBFseBrom · 13/02/2025 21:04

They are delightful drawings. Age roughly 7?

Thank you all for such lovely messages ! I read some of them to my children before bed and they were very happy . The drawing on the left was done by my youngest son and he is 5. It did involve a bit of copying from his brother whose drawing is on the right and he just turned 8 🙂 I swear you dont ever want to see mine haha

They're very good 😊

RickiRaccoon · 13/02/2025 20:57

That's no big deal.

In our case, the sperm was doing the line drawing and the ovum was doing the colour, and they only got together at all to work on the animation.

Oh, it took the sperm AND the egg to combine for your ... "artist", did it?

I'm sure the drawing was ... Lovely.

Wow, such a shame you have a dullard... mine did a similar piece of work in my left ovary...

I'm rubbish at this and kids vary so much it's really hard. One on the left maybe 4-6 and the one on the right 7+

I am an artist FWIW age has no relevance if your children have an interest then nurture it. Take them out with drawing sheets and crayons, get them to interpret their environment, explore what they express in that.

if you nurture this interest then it will always be of value to them. Take them to art galleries.

they may or may not be the next Van Gough or Leonardo Devinci. Or the greatest living artists of our time (Banksy for me)

By the way get yourself some art materials.

Art is for everyone.

Lovely pics, @Sweetsweetland , and whatever age your sons are you are right to be impressed and joyful.
I'm going to take a wild but sincere guess (based on no real knowledge at all, being an art numpty whose kids took little joy in drawing.)
Five and nine?
But even if they are older than that, the pics are great. I couldn't do the one on the right and I don't think my kids ever did any pics as accomplished as that.

Who cares how old they are. I’m just impressed your children are drawing and colouring in and not sat staring at a computer screen! Love the pics.
