Thank you for your replies so we are being governed by WEF as Starmer is in thrall to them but any politician wd have their agenda. So we are not being governed for the good of the UK but for the global elite ? What happens at these meetings ? Is this where zero carbon comes from and the push for it ?

I think it’s absolutely appropriate and right for our politicians to attend. Our economy is not in a great place and they need to be in the room with financial leaders/banks and others. It isn’t a jolly jape - there is a purpose.

Excellent description on first post.
I see the WFE at Davos as an opportunity to see who actually rules the planet. It's not our politicians! The money men are there, and others go to court them. Reeves and Reynolds attended this year with their begging bowls at the ready. George Osborne seems to get himself an invitation every year under one of his 182 job titles lol, and David Beckham was there too. It's an interesting mix of people.

Since Davos is one of the biggest gatherings of large corporate business bosses and Starmer seems to prefer that gathering to governing the country, he's made it clear whose interests he is there to serve as the PM: in essence, it's those of the transnational corporate business.

He is not alone in this. Many leaders (if not most) of other countries are like that too because global transnational corporations are now so wealthy and wield so much power, they can now effectively buy what they require in any government. It's not called corruption. It's called lobbying to give it an air of something less sinister than corruption but when these corporations (or their bosses) donate millions to someone's election campaign, surely, nobody thinks they do it expecting nothing in return? Of course, they do! And then the likes of Starmer simply legislate and regulate in their favour rather than for the interests of people in the country, who, once he is elected, have no say in booting him out until the next election is called. And then the next PM will have his/her share of donations and the whole cycle begins again.
