To not give her a lift?

My child does an activity, once a week, that's roughly a 30 minute drive from my house, so an hour long round trip.

However, one of the parents, who I have never spoken to, has asked other parents where I live, and on discovering that I drive past her house, has decided that I will be taking her child to and from the activity from now on. She has not asked me this! Last week she just left the child at the activity and told the child I would be giving them a ride home. I gave the child a ride home, but not willingly! This child shoved my child out of the way and demanded the front seat, then kicked the back of my seat the whole way home. My child has autism and really needs a quiet car on the way home to decompress, this was quite an ordeal for her.

I'm taking my daughter to her activity later and I'm having anxiety over it happening again. Am I being unreasonable for not wanting to give this child a ride home?!

I told you it be easier to just give the kid a lift home 🤣

You're still maintaining she should have smiled sweetly and kowtowed despite the other mum's breathtaking rudeness? Wow.

Would you be saying the same thing if OP was a man?

Silvertulips · 15/02/2025 19:17

Bet she’s sorry she asked you for a lift - not that she asked you - but you get the drift!

That's so unprofessional of him. Is he part of a wider organisation or does he operate as a solo provider? If it's the former, I'd be reporting him for the way he's blocked your child from taking part in her activity and for the distress that's going to cause her. Because that's what he's done by blocking you – he's punishing her. All because he couldn't keep it in his pants.

I'd also contact some of the other parents to let them know what he's done. Hopefully they'll then stand up for you.

This !
If its anything like guides or brownies and the likes then report him and his behaviour.
He shouldn't be running anything

I don't think the CF thought that as she was the one having the affair but CF had made it seem like this to make others shame OP into helping. Which is still weird as you'd think they would also think why would you ask the other woman. It's all...odd.

I was thinking this. Why are these adults behaving like 2ndary school kids?! Talk to each other like the adults you are instead of gossiping behind people's backs ffs.

FrogsLoveRain · 15/02/2025 12:13

You've jumped the shark now OP

Excuse the text on the GIF, but this is a good display of the last 24 hours.

To clarify - there is no OW! She just implied that I had part to play in her husband leaving.

She has also caused dramas in other peoples friendships and relationships. It seems she has form for this! There's at least one other dad who became very shifty about it all and now his wife is on the war path. I feel like I've opened a can of worms here!

I ended up ringing the leader to ask him out right if all this is true, he stammered and blustered alot, it was like trying to get an answer out of a politician. Then he hung up and has since removed me from the groups communications and blocked me!

You are suddenly finding out a lot about a woman you've never met.

There's at least one other dad who became very shifty about it all and now his wife is on the war path.

What does any of this even mean? Either EXPLAIN BETTER (I've plagiarised that from another thread) or don't bother.

To be fair to the OP IRL I know people whose personal stories would not be out of place on the front of Take A Break. Sometimes the sagas are true.

Me too! One particular 'friend' is the gift that never stops giving- I'm very grateful she has upped sticks - as the constant drama was just too much. Some people just make their life more complicated than necessary.

DuckbilledSplatterPuff · 15/02/2025 10:41

OP. You should be careful about taking too deep a dive into all this allegations and counter allegations.
I think the group leaders behaviour, if he is part of a larger organisation should be reported..
But otherwise I'd avoid getting dragged in any further into the other parent's mad issues.

If this is true, what ever group or activity this is, you need to contact their governing body and tell them what has been going on and how you have been targeted, false accusations made against you and bullied by the fact that the activity leader is apparently involved in this. Although when you rang him to clarify the situation, he did not answer the question and then barred you from the online group. So either he is guilty or he perceives you as the issue and either/both need to be addressed as according to the other Mum, she and him were having a fling and he knowingly allowed her to use you as cover with all the abuse that followed. This other mum has casued havoc and is the activity leader needs to make their involvement or lack of it clear and barr the other mum and not you....an innocent party in all this.

I don’t remember that one? I joined mn around the time of the sold louboutins- did she get the money back on those?

I don't know that thread. The scaffolding one was one woman taking on a scaffolder, and each post became ever more vivid in the telling.

HoraceCope · 15/02/2025 09:05

unbelievable story @DreamingOfHotPotatoes

you could send it in to one of those magazines that actually pay you for shite stories
