Anyone had a partial molar pregnancy found at 12 week scan?

We had our 12 week scan and were shocked and devastated to find out that our baby hadn't grown past 6 weeks. I had no bleeding and very strong pregnancy symptoms, awful nausea started at 8 weeks. I had a surgical management of a miscarriage on Tuesday and the surgeon told me that from what he had seen, it is most likely a partial molar pregnancy.
Has anyone had this and did you successfully fall pregnant after? Did you need treatment?

I'm so sorry for your loss - it's very upsetting. I had a molar pregnancy almost two years ago. Mine wasn't found at a scan though - I had a dreadful miscarriage at 11 weeks, so not long before I was due a scan. I was hospitalised after massive blood loss and they had to remove it during this - it appeared to be causing a blockage. The doc asked if I wanted to see it, but I couldn't. I then had medication to help remove everything else. I had a couple of blood transfusions, but no surgical intervention needed.
I'll be honest and say I couldn't go through that again. I'm fortunate that I have my existing children and, quite honestly, the thought of going through that again has made me not want any more.

That said, a friend of mine had a partial molar pregnancy, and went on to fall pregnant and give birth to a happy and healthy girl a couple of years later. Take time to recover and heal, both physically and mentally, then take it from there. Sending love and a big hug x

Sorry you have gone through this, it is horrible. 💐💐

I did, and had a successful pregnancy 6 months later, I was 40.

For me it was found at 2 week scan, no heartbeat. I had had similar symptoms to you.

At the time it was awful. But I needed no treatment and no problems since. They do monitor your HCG levels for 6 months and tell you not to get pregnant for that time so that they can monitor the levels.

The odds are your experience will be the same.

I just wanted to say how very sorry I am and am sending hugs. Take time to grieve. It's a hard experience to go through. A friend of mine had a molar pregnancy and found out at 12 weeks she now has 3 lovely children. Wishing you well lovely. 💐
