Every day waking up to yet another insane declaration from Trump. America is losing the respect of the world

It's like a parallel universe - how did America come to this? So now he plans to ethnically cleanse Gaza we are told - to create the 'Riviera of the Middle East.' A golf course and hotels probably. The £2 million people can just go wherever. Wtf! AIBU to think America is imploding in on itself?

nice gaslighting

I don't understand - are you saying there aren't Palestinians in Israel or are you saying that there hasn't been an ethnic cleansing of Jewish people from the Palestinian territories?

Devianinc · 05/02/2025 23:04

It seems bizarre but it would do a lot for peace in the Mideast. Whether it ever happens or not is really the question. People there would thrive

Humdingerydoo · 05/02/2025 23:03

The only actual ethnic cleansing in the land being discussed is of Jews from the Palestinian territories. There are still to this day Palestinians living in Israel.

Your suggestion is incredibly gross.

nice gaslighting

In the 1970s, Alan Coren wrote a weekly column in Punch parodying the Ugandan dictator Idi Amin, often commenting on world affairs. One of his suggestions was to move all of the Palestinians to Belfast and all the NI Catholics to the West Bank.

Edited

For a more recent suggestion, I believe Sheldon Cooper world famous physicist suggested he create the promised land in the Mojave desert. Promised to make it nice and put on a spread. 😅

Ethnic cleansing, you mean kinda like what Palestine and Palestinians have been suffering for decades.

I'd say my suggestion is far better considered than what the orange nutter has come away with.

When did America ever have the respect of the world?
I grew up in the 80s and no one I knew respected Americans back then - they were seen as loud, rude and arrogant.
There was an American air base near my village and there was an American housing estate where their families lived, they were very unpopular.

President Fart has made for entertaining news articles but hasn’t made much difference to how the world views America.

I’m waiting for him to suggest that the population of England should be relocated to the Australian outback so that he can turn It into a giant golf course.

That's not such a terrible idea though - better weather and zero traffic problems in the great outback of OZ!

Trump is completely batshit and the most unpolitical politician to have graced the Earth.

I've decided to stop living a sensible life and saving for the future and to blow it all in Ibiza celebrating the third summer of love ❤️

I suspect their will be plenty of middle age folk joining me from the states, which now also includes Canada 😂

pananamana · 05/02/2025 23:02

too many fascist supporters on this thread!

pananamana · 05/02/2025 23:01

he's a dangerous fascist who will screw the US and the rest of the world over. Be concerned and mobilise to stand against him and others like him!

Humdingerydoo · 05/02/2025 22:58

So it's not ethnic cleansing you're opposed to, you just think some ethnicities are more important than others?

Just started a thread saying the same before I saw this. I'd suggest as israel apparently aligns with the west regarding values, Trump takes all Israelis out and into America and leave Palestine to the Palestinians.

So since Trump was inaugurated he has at break neck speed
Sent troops to the border.
Stopped catch and release
Sent a clear message to illegal aliens and illegal criminals
Declared war on the drug gangs.
Negotiated an agreement with Mexico to at least attempt to stop the drugs crossing into usa.
Called out Trudeau for his lax attitude to illegal drugs and got a result in that canada will reinforce the border.
Set into law the Laken Reilly act.
Has started cost cutting in all govt depts. And calling outridiculous wastage of tax payers money . Sorry when have we heard those words here.
Wants people back to the office to increase productivity. ( I'm all for that )
The politicians are always at the trough . What have the dems really being doing with USAID
Seems a bit of money laundering going on
This is totally refreshing as a voter.
As for Gaza,
I mean why should trillions of dollars be thrown at gaza for it to obliterated again and again.i think we need to wait and see what happens. If the usa were in Gaza that's it hopefully peace. In actual fact I am enjoying a non career politician working the govt as a business and having respect for the American tax payers.he is America first and has never started any war in his last 4 years. He certainly does not want US deaths so let's wait and see.
If the same thing is done to " help" gaza again sure it will be back to square one in no time
What was instigated before does NOT work. Its a total-hi% hole .needs to be leveled is right Hamas are evil personified plus they
depend on the world defending gaza and you know what if clearing it stops senseless violence so be it

Anyone follow Riley Gaines??
She is delighted he has brought into law no men in women's sports. To me common sense is prevailing and DEI which was completely ridiculous is being replaced ny people getting jobs on merit. He is calling a halt on trans ideology

See crime rates down in NYC. Funny how goos America with real leadership and not a puppet is coming across.
He is refreshing . I must admit Gaza floored me but I hate Hamas so hey let's pull the rug from under their terrorist arses and see what happens.

I totally agree.
You are definitely speaking for me.

eacapade1982 · 05/02/2025 22:57

The thing that astounds me is the sheer number of intelligent people pretending the Emperor has new clothes to appease a batshit megalomaniac. Trudeau ‘agreed’ a 1.3 billion deal to avoid tariffs, and splashed it all over the media to make it look like Trump had achieved something when it was the same deal he negotiated with the Biden administration in December. Trudeau knew it, the Trump administration knew it, the media knew it, but somehow everyone is pretending Trump actually did something. Same thing with the Californian water farce. Everyone apart from maybe MAGA supporters is fully aware that there is no canal from North California to LA, and all Trump did by diverting water was flood some desert farmland and waste the summer water reserves. People know this, but a large number of intelligent people are just pretending Trump’s insane statements are right. It’s so embarrassing.

It sounds as though there are a lot of now-unemployed Democrats on this thread, smearing and fear mongering.
The normal Americans I have spoken to view him as a breath of fresh air.

They view it as a breath of fresh air that women of childbearing age won't be able to get essential lifesaving care if things go wrong in pregnancy? That basic healthcare is already becoming less available? That their children are going to be in even more danger of being shot than was previously the case?

What is wrong with them?

AllFurCoatAndFrillyKnickers · 05/02/2025 22:55

Normal Americans? What are they MAGA?
A breath of fresh air? Diaper Donny?

every second post is a quote response - makes for a very arduous read. Ditto the links to newspaper articles.

YANBU OP. We are only a few weeks in and I'm trying to find ways to distance myself from the news.

To Americans saying that we shouldn't really be concerned - I am Irish, and we trade with USA. We are concerned. Tariffs would effect our economy. Plus I'm used to politicians speaking so carefully, whereas Trump is the opposite. But he stands over nothing he says.

The whole Mexico/Canada trade threats remind me of the nursery rhyme;

The Grand Old Duke of York,
He had ten thousand men.
He marched them up to the top of the hill,
And then he marched them down again.

And when they were up they were up.
And when they were down they were down.
And when they were only half way up,
They were neither up nor down.

Trump is a bully and an awful character on a personal level - his companies have been bankrupt 6 times. He is keeping federal minimum wage at $7.25 per hour. Everybody should work for peanuts, without social health care or access to union membership, whereas he wants to live in luxury and shirk any consequences for his actions.

I agree with him regarding biological males in womens sport and personal places (Dormitories, changing rooms) and abhor the Democrats view that you be whatever sex you wanted.

The grand old duke of york
He had ten thousand men.
He also had lots of teenage girls.
But nobody mentions them.

😂

Don't talk it up!!

Convolvulus · 05/02/2025 22:53

It's going to be interesting when his supporters start feeling the real effects of his policies - as prices go up, they lose their jobs and their health insurance, they start getting more illnesses due to lack of vaccinations etc, women find themselves unable to get life-saving obstetric care, they can't find basic foods and goods in the shops etc etc. Put that into the mix with him trying to send an unwilling military off on stupid missions to invade other countries which are not supported by most of the US electorate, and you have a recipe for civil war.

@Fairyliz
You think Australian weather is better than here?
They have terrible droughts and floods. It seems to be getting hotter and hotter there, and could be uninhabitable a few years down the line. No thanks.

mawik · 05/02/2025 22:51

I wake up every morning hoping that the headlines on news are announcing that someone has managed to ‘delete’ the orange idiot and his followers!! What a total cockwomble!!

NotTerfNorCis · 05/02/2025 22:51

It's hot air. Look what happened with the tariffs. Trump blustered and said some really stupid things that won't be forgotten; the markets got spooked; Trump backed down, pretending that things agreed months ago were new deals. He knows his thicker supporters will lap it up.
