Every day waking up to yet another insane declaration from Trump. America is losing the respect of the world

It's like a parallel universe - how did America come to this? So now he plans to ethnically cleanse Gaza we are told - to create the 'Riviera of the Middle East.' A golf course and hotels probably. The £2 million people can just go wherever. Wtf! AIBU to think America is imploding in on itself?

But this will of course necessarily mean getting closer to the EU and I worry that the Reform shills will be out in force to prevent that. Our fate at the hands of Trump's US won't be good though. I wish there was a way to highlight this again and again.

There is a whole ocean between UK and US. I think geography is reason enough to drive the decision of who to align with.
Farage cannot stop a whole nation, with such a small number of MPs. Do they want to riot? Then there is the jail waiting for them .

I'm not sure how effective the EU will be as a body, with Orban openly pro-Russian. Some other member states will be too nervous to get involved while the likes of Poland and Estonia have their own borders to defend from Russian aggression. We really need to act bilaterally with France.

Unfortunately, this is true.

The Republicans, at this point, are having to choose between the potential wrath of their voters and the consequences or angering Trump (potentially losing their seats by having Elon Musk fund someone to primary them). They know there is almost no change of losing their seat to a Democrat in very deep red areas, many of which have been gerrymandered for that purpose.

I would love to see some of them either develop a conscience or become more afraid of their constituents than they are of Musk and Trump, but don't hold out much hope.

The biggest worry for some Republican politicians is that the MAGAts will get violent if they question the Dear Leader.

I highly recommend you search for ‘Kevin Bloody Wilson’ and his ‘What’s Donald Going to do Today?’ on YouTube.
It’s hilarious.

100% behind John here!
He is fully right.
Europe and UK need our independance. In defence, technology, manufacturing, global trades.
We should actually design our own computer coding, our own version of MS-DOS and get rid of the hackers, ransoms they ask for and spies shite too.
Full weaning and emancipation.

There's nothing Democrats or swing voters can do right now. Trump has a majority in both houses and in the Supreme Court.

The only people who can actually do anything about Trump is the Republican Party itself.

Agree the dems can't do anything directly now but they need to make inroads now into the messaging and targeting of voters for the midterms and beyond. They need to make inroads into how to reach and resonate with young men, disgruntled trump voters, undecideds, and pro crypto people ...modernise how they reach these voters (social media, tiktok) and stop just relying on what they have already.

And on a different note, I'm assuming from your post that your user name is ironic?

So when WW3 starts it won’t be because of that fucktard Trump or Putin but trans people? Got it. That makes sense now.

Democrats and swing voters who have realised the error of their ways need to act now...trump is already laying the groundwork for a third term...and manipulating the polls so he can never lose...otherwise they will never get rid of trumpism politics. They will suffer as will the world. Their tentacles are stretching into Europe and it needs to stop.

The government you elect is the government you deserve. Thomas Jefferson

Unfortunately, the world did not elect him but will suffer from his ravings. Particularly Ukraine and Gaza.

I truly believe that he and his henchmen are insane.

Fortunately, his approval ratings in the US appears to be on a downward trajectory.

The US came to this because the Democrats presented themselves as supporters of the transagenda - this carried a lot of women who were fed up with finding people with penises in their same-sex changing rooms. That's clearly not enought, but didn't help because - surprise, surprise - women think women's rights to sex segregated spaces and to the rights they have won are important. The economy did not help, either, nor aggressive climate change actions without thought for people's livelihoods. And Biden showed himself to be incompetent and should have been told to gracefully announce in 2023 that he would not be standing for a second term. Kamala Harris was terrible candidate and anyway, the Democrats won't elect the first woman president, as in the UK the conservative wing will do that.

Oh, please. Give it a break.

Rubio has sold his soul. He’s one of the biggest Russia Hawks in the GOP, he knows full well what is happening.

Whether he originally took the role thinking he could temper Trump’s wilder tendencies I don’t know, but he has well and truly sold out now.

Vance has just proved himself to be the red neck he always tried to deny he was. He’s the epitome of “will do anything for a sniff of power”.

Trump has them all prancing around like performing dogs, desperate for scraps from his table.

He (Rubio) did say one bad thing about Putin: "they do not care about lives, they brought the North Korean troops to be slaughtered"
He also said that they are trying to avoid personal remarks to bring the players to the table to get a chance for that longed for peace deal. And that the Ukranians had been briefed all along.
But Trump had been rather nasty to Zelensky publically. So, it seems that everyone has to be nice nice to Putin. I do not want to be cute, but let's all strike Putin's ego here. The man has gone through a lot with me blah blah blah... Hunter Biden....blah blah blah
The more I think about it, the less sense it makes. It helps exactly zero towards any negotiations. It shows a chaotic other side to Putin, who is meant to be the one feeling the weight of his actions.
They should never ever argue in this fashion in public. This is for closed doors, if.... Where is that diplomacy? Vance needs to check himself, really.

The amount of media time given to his incoherent ramblings is insane. How did America come to this?

Firstly the Republican Party chose Trump to stand for President. They could have picked a sane person but hey ho. Secondly Putin poured funds into promoting Trump. Thirdly Trump told shit loads of lies and stoked up culture wars designed to make people believe that only he could save them from the horrors.

And fourthly, Americans voted for him. May God help them.

Turkeyneck101 · 01/03/2025 15:45

This is an excellent take and one which I hope some european techno minded person picks up on. Hit oligarchy billionaires where it really hurts...in the pocket.

Meantime join Bluesky, leave twitter with the twats.

Vance leapt at the opportunity to seem like the big man so he can position himself with the magas to take over if trump croaks it. Up to now he has been a back room player scampering among musks skirt tails. A loathsome excuse of a human.

Rubio was in the room post interviews blames ZELENSKY. He has flip flopped like them all about trump.

Rubio and Vance are actually worse than Trump because they're smart and know better. Trump is just a rancid, deluded, demented narcissist.

Turkeyneck101 · 01/03/2025 13:37

Has anyone watched the interview with Rubio trying to calm it down and make so.e sense of it?
I think Trump should have chosen Rubio to sit by his side and not JD Vance. At least, the is is what he wanted.
Everytime Trump is against Zelensky, it looks like he is with Putin, best buddies. I am not enjoying this a bit. And if Trump really wants to be best buddies with Putin, then he will lose any acceptance and back up in Europe.

Well, if we are going to gamble on a war, which costs us our lives, based on the personal issues of men, then we are as good as dead.

You see and believe what you see and believe...I see a nazi-esque rascist thin skinned lieing rapist. He is aligning himself with Putin...it wasn't so long ago Americans were throwing people in jail at the mere hint of being a communist.
I will give you this, he has been successful, very successful at making Americans very angry at the little guy, taking away whatever rights and pittance of pay that they get, while allowing the billionaires and oligarchs to have their tax cuts and pillage the government under the guise of 'saving money' . The laughable thing is that trump continues to grift, flogging his trainers, bibles coins, meme coins, etc at the same time....filling his pockets while playing golf, snorting whatever it is he shoves up his nose , along with his ketamine loving friend musk. And maga think he is doing it all for them.😂 They've invited in the biggest grifter, thief, bankrupt and conman, opened their savings book and told him and his billionaire mates to help themselves. All he has to do is hug a flag and dance to ymca and they're complete suckers for it.

As for european leaders they all see trump for the loon that he is. He is a laughing stock but a dangerous one.

America has aligned itself with Russia and North Korea fgs. No-one trusts him. They see the writing on the wall and see their strength in sticking together.

America came knocking on Europe's door after 9/11 good luck with getting putin and Kim jung un to back America up should you ever need it.

Enjoy your increased medication prices, lack of medicare and Medicaid, increased insurance premiums and high fuel and food costs...it will be an absolute blast I'm sure.

Ps I see the economy is tanking and inflation is on the up...but don't worry the billionaires will be a-ok. 😁

You could not be more correct.

He's already testing the waters for a third term, he's mentioned it several times now.

America has become an autocracy.

You'll always get Trump diehards trying to excuse him, but he is a fascist dictator and a rapist to boot.

This week I've had a Trump nutter telling me how he cares about the poor. You could not make it up. It's not a case of belief the evidence shows that his first term tax policy massively favoured the rich. The top 1 percent. She seemed to have forgotten about that though.

You can't point out facts to Trump supporters, they've drunk the Kool Aid.
