I have come across this person's videos a few times and I think she deliberately creates controversial content to generate high engagement and views, but my FIL shares her views and fully agrees with her.
I know is entitled to heir opinion but AIBU to think WTF?

If it's a cultural thing, it's still worth challenging with your inlaws

VoodooRajin · 05/02/2025 17:29

She looks very jolly i must say, talking bollocks mind

latetothefisting · 05/02/2025 17:22

apart from anything else it's a ridiculous over exaggeration. Even with the lowest possible interpretation of 'thousands of boyfriends' as 2000, for, say, a thirty year old who started dating at 15 that's a new boyfriend every 2.7 days.
Which seems....unlikely.

godmum56 · 05/02/2025 17:06

I'd be more wtf if this was new and unheard of. In every generation there are ignorant idiots. if you don't believe me take a look at the surrendered wife. More important than what your Fil or Mil think is what does your partner think?

allthemiddlechildrenoftheworld · 05/02/2025 16:56

@TheBlueGreyZebra so is mil the little woman indoors???

AlohaRose · 05/02/2025 16:49

If you're not in touch with your MIL, why are you still in touch with your misogynistic FIL? I can only imagine how awful she was if this behaviour doesn't cause you to go no-contact! Andy why do you have your FIL on social media? Removing him from everything would be a good start.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 05/02/2025 16:29

What culture is your husband from?

thepariscrimefiles · 05/02/2025 16:23

TheBlueGreyZebra · 05/02/2025 14:39

I am not in touch with her so I don't know exactly. But she usually rolls her eyes at things like this when FIL says it, but that is exactly how she expects her DILs to treat her sons (she doesn't have daughters). She even "gives training" (her words) to her DILs when they first get married to teach them how to clean the house, cook their son's favourite meals, cook their brothers' lunches and bring them tea, clean the brothers rooms, let the boys do their things together and stay home to watch a chick flic, put their best clothes on and perfume when her sons come through the door and greet her and her sons at the door when they come in, (on top of working and providing 50/50 ofc!) because "it would be nice if boys did it but boys don't do that".

Edited

Did you receive this 'training'? What does your DH think of his parents' outdated and sexist views?

NeverDropYourMooncup · 05/02/2025 16:04

Lyn348 · 05/02/2025 15:37

you wouldn't show your boss an ugly face

What the fuck does that even mean? If she means you wouldn't go to work without make up - well she's completely wrong there in my case!

Despite not following any of these sad 'rules' I only had five boy friends and then got married.

The video sounds completely grim.

I'd look like No Face in Spirited Away if my boss couldn't be shown my 'ugly' face.

Just as well my job isn't model or artist's muse as they're about the only ones where a face, ugly or otherwise, is actually kind of essential.

ItGhoul · 05/02/2025 15:59

Your in-laws sound completely deranged and I would be having nothing to do with either of them. I certainly wouldn't be following anyone on social media who posted that sort of hateful shite.

What does your husband think about all this? That's the important thing. If he shares his parents' views he's a complete arsehole and you need to get rid of him. What sort of man agrees to have his mother 'train' his fiancee ffs?

christmashelp24 · 05/02/2025 14:19

I dont think you'll get many people clicking on random links on here at the moment given what happened over the weekend (I certainly wouldn't). You'll have to explain whats in the video.

Its a woman telling the world they should respect their husband and giving examples of how to do this.

JoyousPinkPeer · 05/02/2025 15:56

There's a surprise, comments have been turned off on the YouTube video. Very funny, it's so ludicrous.

shellyleppard · 05/02/2025 15:46

@TheBlueGreyZebra I'm sorry but what a load of bollox!!! That woman on the video is talking absolute nonsense

Iwanttoliveonamountain · 05/02/2025 15:44

Dont bother clicking onit.

BobbyBiscuits · 05/02/2025 15:40

I'd literally refuse to speak to him anymore.
I don't think I could cope with such utter shite.

That was the tip of the iceberg. I was young, naive, and had zero self confidence when I got married. I've gone no contact with her since.

Are you no contact with FIL too? I would block him so you don't have to see his ridiculous posts 🙄 does your DH have similar opinions?

notacooldad · 05/02/2025 14:54

Why are you sharing a link to a video you disagree with?
At a guess, I would say to get a discussion going and get people's opinions. Some people may agree, some won't.

PenCreed · 05/02/2025 14:49

You got “training” from your MIL? WTF?

Honestly, my MIL and I are often not quite on the same wavelength but the more I read here the more grateful I am for her being normal.

My husband is not my boss. I am not subservient.

So what does your husband and his brothers think of this video? If that has been their upbringing, what are their thoughts and expectations?

I think I would be "job hunting" for a new relationship if a partner thought of himself as "my boss"!

TheBlueGreyZebra · 05/02/2025 14:40

TemporaryPosition · 05/02/2025 14:35

You wouldn't sleep with your boss would you? As long as treating one another 'like a boss' is mutual

good point
