From what I’ve heard with the current drama surrounding her I’m shocked. Did anyone’s opinions of her change?

ps this isn’t a bashing thread

And using that logic Blake Livelys publicist used to represent Harvey Weinstein & her business was funded by him when she split from another firm. Should she fire her?

Darkdiamond · 05/02/2025 17:52

I've been following the case very closely and it's very difficult not to see that she attempted to stage a takeover of the production. I've read and watched a lot of the evidence and am struggling to believe that he is guilty of what she has accused him. I'm normally very much of the 'believe women' camp but in this case, that's not what I'm leading towards. I could be wrong of course, but, given what I've seen and read, I believe that and her husband have orchestrated something that has got out of hand.

wipeywipe · 05/02/2025 17:46

Or that Bryan freedman, his lawyer, settled out of court with a minor who accused him and his mates of gang rape?

So all the people he represented eg Gabrielle Union, Julia Roberts, Alanis Morrisette, FKA Twigs, etc should not have used him?

Basically he shouldn't be a lawyer?

@ColinOfficeTrolley

Yes. They are all 100% factual statements.
No. They really aren't. This is the problem. People believing everything they read and forming opinions about people they don't know based on those falsehoods

Which part isn't true?

That he signed the document before filming restarted, agreeing to certain terms? That he hired the same pr firm as Johnny Depp had during the amber herd trial? Or that Bryan freedman, his lawyer, settled out of court with a minor who accused him and his mates of gang rape?

Goody2ShoesAndTheFilthyBeast · 05/02/2025 17:37

I don't think anything of her.
I do think that men have been destroying women who speak out for a very long time.

People reading information info that JB released and are shocked that it supports his side of the argument. Do you hear yourself? You think that stuff won't be biased?

It's interesting that other then legal filings BL has not made a big deal of this. The articles are ABOUT her but not FROM her. She has all the support from the cast, was the one who obeyed the production company who (stupidly) wanted to spin a positive message for the film which allowed JB to do his dv morality tour making BL look tone deaf in comparison.

I keep hearing this bizarre argument that she 'refused' an intimacy coordinator. No. The text JB released, indicated that on one particular occasion BL didn't want to meet the intimacy coordinator. That isn't 'refusing'. She was 2 months post-partum at the time. I imagine she was busy.

I hope the court case can cut through all the bs because the average persons reading comprehension, lack of critical thinking, and basic mysogany on this is making me worry about humanity.

JB seems determined to throw so much mud in the well with these messages and video that prove absolutely fuck all and can be interpreted either way. I suspect he knows that the actual evidence produced by BL is pretty damning and so it trying to get the public on his side just like he did with the PR company hired specifically to smear her.

BL has the texts from the PR company proving that JB deliberately tried to smear her and ruin her reputation.

BL has the document from the meeting mid filming which illustrates all the unacceptable ways JB was acting on set.

Another woman in the production team similarly complain of him being inappropriate.

You could argue that none of these were real somehow but that would be spectacularly stupid from BL team to hang your court case on so I suspect they are real and they can prove they were real.

What actual evidence does he have? Fucking nothing but speculation, slander, and things that can be interpreted in one way or another. He's poisoned the well with the aforementioned smear campaign (that btw even the pr people were surprised went so well) that everyone is primed to hate her.

The only thing BL has done wrong is not be a perfect victim. Same old same old.

Edited

How do you explain all her explicit sexual texts?

Ball Busting
Never Teeth
Sexy
Suppositories

I am neutral til all the evidence is in but you sound deranged by ignoring this evidence. Do you know what ball busting refers to?

Hotflushesandchilblains · 05/02/2025 17:35

I am ashamed to say that, just like with Amber Heard, I had a negative opinion of her over the summer - I had heard things in passing, had not looked at or thought about them in depth but was very aware of the stuff about her so-called disrespectful behaviour. FWIW I never saw the problem with her 'wear your florals' message at the time - yes the film was about DV but it was about ending the cycle which is an uplifting theme - the fact that this can happen. But that still was not enough for me to not be affected by all the negative press. Do I think she is perfect? Of course not. Do I believe her? I am inclined to with what I have seen more recently. Just like with AH, I think these things build momentum and it is hard not to be affected, especially if the target is not perfect. I hope I will be less affected by these negative press campaigns in future.

Edited to finish as for some reason it posted twice and this posted before I finished!

What I saw was Blake commenting on Justin's nose.

Yes, doesn't she realise she can't have an opinion on another man's face 🙄😆

LadyTottingham · 05/02/2025 17:30

She has utilised her husband and her best friend to try and pull a power move and was met with resistance that she wasn't expecting.
In the same way she wasn't expecting JB to bite back legally (and with receipts).

Obviously I read the website he put up with a pinch of salt, there is his opinion put in there, but the messages she has sent are wild. She may very well have a sexual harassment claim, I can’t speak on that as I wasn’t there. However, she ran a very calculated campaign to gain creative control from him and the production company. There is evidence for that. Demanding to see the dailies, demanding to sit alongside the director in the editing suite, then to have time with her own editor to cut her own version of the movie (she was an actress not a director). Despite JB’s cut of the film scoring higher in previews we ended up with her version of the film being the one which was released. She just refused to sign her acting agreement which tied her in to being legally obliged to promote the movie. Financially this would have been disastrous and Wayfarer and Sony acquiesced to her demands.

She refused to allow Justin Baldoni’s name to appear above the title on the film poster or have ‘a film by Justin Baldoni’ appear on the poster. Again, Sony allowed this as she was threatening to not approve the image rights which would mean no posters or promo with her image.

She demanded Baldoni and Jamey Heath write a letter recommending her to receive a producer credit from the Producer’s Guild of America which neither thought she deserved. They ended up writing the letter to ensure they could move forward with the release of the movie.

BurgundyZero · 05/02/2025 17:25

I have not seen any of her work. Some of her tweets are quite funny. I think her husband should fuck off out of football as stop treating Wrexham as his personal vanity money laundering project. It's monstrously unfair to normal clubs who can't buy their way to success.

wipeywipe · 05/02/2025 17:25

You can have opinions on lots of things, but not on another woman’s body.

That doesn't even make sense in the context of my reply but you're deluded if you think people don't have opinions on other people's bodies!

arcticpandas · 05/02/2025 17:23

IncaDove · 05/02/2025 17:15

And what you’re basically saying here is that a woman should accept comments about her body in case complaining damages her career

What I saw was Blake commenting on Justin's nose. She's not your average girl. With Ryan Reynolds she's way above Justin in the power hierarchy which She's very well aware of.

wipeywipe · 05/02/2025 17:22

Yes, that's definitely what I'm saying 😆

When you are a celebrity image matters, it just does, why else apologise for their wedding venue? What celebs say, tweet etc is picked up on. She could have easily responded with "i'm not comfortable with that" etc. Of course she is under no obligation too but in the interest of PR celebs are normally very media savvy with what they say. I don't particularly care how she responded as it's not that deep & everyone has an off day. I'm just acknowledging that the public will use things like that to form a judgement of your character rightly or wrongly. And that's exactly what has happened but you don't have to agree.

justteanbiscuits · 05/02/2025 17:21

Friend of a friend worked for her in a PA role - having worked for a number of celebs from film world. She only has really positive things to say about her (this is not true about most of her employers!).

sanityisamyth · 05/02/2025 17:21

Who? I assumed it was a bloke from the name!

arcticpandas · 05/02/2025 17:20

Thought she was a cute girl, average actress. Was very empathetic when I heard she's been treated badly by Justin whatshisface.

U-turn when I saw the video clips and messages exchanged. She's a bitch. I tend to root for the women but in this case I feel sorry for the man.

It’s not relevant that you don’t find it offensive. Blake Lively did and I would too. And you don’t get to say what I should find acceptable when it comes to my own body.
No. But you don't get to sue or ruin someone for saying something considered inoffensive just because YOU find it offensive.

If I find someone eating meat offensive I don't get to sue them or punish them because they haven't done anything wrong by societies standard. Just mine.

Is she suing the reporter?

And the meat analogy is so ridiculous I don’t even know how to respond to it.

The world's gone mad!! The interviewer was congratulating her on her pregnancy, a pregnancy that had been publicly announced. It was a nice thing to do. Nothing more to it.

No but I can have an opinion on what is a proportion response to a question someone doesn't like. And when your career depends on positive PR public opinion matters hence why it's been discussed endlessly....

What do you think of Justin Baldoni? Why do we never see posts like this discussing the men involved in whatever (see Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter etc etc).
