Do you consider yourself rich?

I’ve been thinking about what it means to be ‘rich’ and how people define wealth differently. Is it purely about money or does it include having time, health, and relationships? Some people with high incomes don’t feel rich, while others with modest means feel content and abundant.

Do you consider yourself rich and why? What does being rich actually mean to you?

Yes, one does, and of course, it is all down to you lot - the 'rabble' as we say!

Im rich with life not money.
I have no debts good savings bills paid a month ahead.
I dont feel the pinch of the cost of living as some do.
Travel a lot not a care in the world.
My money is my own to do what i please with .
No man No kids No pets No drama No restrictions.
Love life.

Not rich but very comfortable and content.
We have a mortgage on a modest home/ flat, drive an old car and can afford a couple of holidays a year and all of our groceries plus savings every month.
Yes we'd love a bigger house or newer car but we've everything we NEED.

Not financially, but I do feel we're time rich.

We're very lucky to be able to support our lifestyle on two part-time incomes. We own our home, have two (old and battered) cars and can afford hobbies and pets. But our home needs work, we live in a fairly deprived area and we never go abroad.

However the flip side of that is that we rarely work more than 30 hours a week. We're generally home from 2pm everyday, we don't work weekends (unless we choose to) and have plenty of time to see friends and family.

I'm not sure I'd sacrifice all our free time for money. We don't need it. We can comfortably afford our mortgage and bills, we pay into private pensions and have some leftover for emergencies, savings and fun.

However we don't have kids and our lifestyle definitely wouldn't be possible if we did.

To me, rich means being able to buy most of whatever I want. We have £1.5k left to spend or save each month, but I don't feel rich as we need to save up for things.

I feel rich, we have no debt, earn enough to put a bit into savings and a bit to various charities we support. Grown up DCs that don't depend on us financially so it's just us two to consider.
We have a lovely garden and a great community.
If we need something we can just buy it from cash or savings, and we have enough planned to fund a decent retirement when we get there (in about 20 years or so).
