To be upset my promotion wasn't announced

I have been promoted to management at work, I found out it was happening in a meeting with my bosses and then a few days later my email signature changed without warning. It's not a huge change in responsibilities as I was already effectively managing before but without the title, although I've had a pay rise.

When others have been promoted it's been announced in meetings and people have been taken out for drinks after work, etc.

It's been two weeks now and there's been no announcement for me. People have noticed but not a single person has said well done or congratulations at work and I'm sad about it, but also wondering if there's a reason - it's sent me into a negative spiral of thoughts like am I actually shite and they've just given me this title so I'll stay, or does everyone just dislike me!

They also haven't changed my title on the company website yet so I've not felt able to tell anyone other than DP. DP bought me a well done card and I just burst into tears because it's been such a mountain for me and it feels like what should have been a huge achievement has turned into a huge blow to my confidence.

Am I being a bit pathetic? I haven't said anything at work as don't want to sound ungrateful or needy. It is bothering me though.

Are you well liked at work?

I like to think so, I don't clash with anyone. There's a clique of women that I'm not part of, but everyone is friendly with me

Is there an underlying reason they might now want to announce it? Redundancies within the company? Personally I would not bring this up unless it was impacting my role

Maybe because you have been pretty much managing already, people have not really noticed anything different or don't see it as such a big deal because in their eyes you were already a manager? hope I am making sense lol.

Don't take it personally at all. Congratulations! be proud of yourself.

I would not raise it, but I understand why you feel like that. Sorry.

YANBU, I think it's very human to feel taken for granted - but you do run the risk of seeming petty if you raise it.

Are you happy there otherwise?

Sometimes it’s just that the person who always takes care of that side of things is AWOL. Who is that person? Ask them?

I’d mention it, just say I notice no announcement has been made and the website hasn’t changed so am I ok to keep telling people or should I await these changes?

You are an adult professional manager, it’s not needy, just use your usual work professionalism
