Has anyone seen the video footage that totally proves Blake Lively was lying about her accusations of Justin Baldoni. Total Amber Heard vibes from this and it's scary to think how many cases that can't be proved have destroyed men's lives.

She gets a lot of hate because some people haven't forgiven her for what she did on social media about Princess Catherine while she battled cancer. Or how she promoted a film about domestic violence like it was a Rom-com, while using the film as an aid to flog her booze and hair range. This was all before the "smear campaign", no one can blame these instances on JB.

The promotion of the movie was how she was told to promote it. Actors don’t do these promos out the goodness of their hearts, it’s a contractual obligation and they have to go by the PR instructions - which in this case were “Focus on the positive messages of the films including flowers and fashion”. And actually this was conjured up AFTER she called Bandoni out on his behaviour. It also just so happens that Baldoni’s promo plan was different to the rest of the case, he WAS allowed to speak about DV when doing the press tour. Funny that

The AH/JD trial was a fascinating watch in a lot of ways and I watched it in it's entirety. The main take for me was how manipulative and just plain incorrect the media were in their reporting of the trial.

The evidence, with context, and the verdict were pretty damning.

Multiple judges in the UK after extensive trial believed her. I think that has more credibility than a perfectly crafted smear campaign targeting the minds of the impressionable

She was a witness for The Sun so he was restricted in the evidence he was allowed to bring.

JD subsequently got an apology from Dan Wootton for his part in The Sun
article.

Anyway, there were numerous threads on it so I'm not going to derail further.

caveat - I'm not a JD fan although I did like a couple of his very early films.

I really recommend listening to "Who Trolled Amber Heard".

Seconded.

Ok, totally not PRbot. I believe her.

Yes and I believe both Amber and Blake.

Please explain how Depp's case - that he brought on himself btw, I agree you need to listen to Who Trolled Amber Heard - has "destroyed" his life.

For a man to be hated and vilified by the media, he has to be evil, and a criminal (even that sometimes doesn't work, Chris brown and akon still sell out shows for example). For a woman to be vilified by the public and media, she just has to have some personality traits you don't like. She's set up to fail because it's just so much more fun to hate a woman

You know what I found really weird at the time of the Johnny Depp / Amber Herd thing…

I didn’t engage in any of it. Didn’t click on any clickbaits, didn’t read any threads, didn’t look them up on social media. I don’t read “news”papers like the Daily Fail. I was a little ignorant of it… but Instagram (in the discover bar) FLOODED my discoverable with Amber Herd stuff - negative Amber Herd stuff. And I was really horrified by it so never clicked and tried not to hesitate as I scrolled by, as I wanted to retrain my algorithm. At the time I thought “no I don’t want that hateful content!” but, looking back, it was barraging someone who didn’t engage at all. What about those who did?

Then the same thing happened with Blake Lively - except I did stop and consume that but didn’t buy it and, quite early on, listened to a podcast episode that convinced me that this was a full smear campaign.

It frightens me how much social media controls people’s thoughts and opinions. I want to leave all of it, but I want to stay in touch with the accounts I like. I have no idea what to do.

I totally agree and at the time (I even posted on here) I was baffled by the Blake Lively hate. I’ve seen male actors have absolute tantrums in interviews but apparently we were meant to be horrified at Blake Lively because she gave a suitable answer about a fucking stupid question about how domestic violence victims can “find her to speak to her” (I was raised to believe that stupid questions deserve stupid answer).

I’m constantly amazed at how many people fell for the Johnny Depp is the Victim narrative.

Oh and BTW addicts like Depp are very often incontinent and almost always forget and or/deny doing terrible things. It could not be more obvious that it was him who shot the bed and like addicts do blamed someone else. And the dipshits of the world went “We love you Johnny you were great as Jack Sparrow! We know it was that awful woman!”

Im gonna listen to the Amber Heard podcast

I agree with everyone saying the video proves nothing, as they are both acting and not acting. However, I think it is clear she is trying to dodge the kissing in this scene and trying to do so in a jokey playful way whilst still trying to maintain ‘character’ for the scene. I do feel however that for this particular scene in a romantic movie, one would anticipate some intimacy so that’s why she is coming across as ‘difficult’ . Should she just go along with the scene as that is what she has signed up for or does every touch and interaction have to be choreographed?

Diomi · 23/01/2025 09:36

Who knows what went on between them? Their lawyers must love them. Two very rich, egotistical people who wind each other up and won’t back down. They are dream clients.

Nobody is ‘telling’ me that BL is a dick I have eyes and ears, have done so for years it looks out of her, she did the interviews they are not AI generated, her husband is also a dick and they are a bit power mad.

I didn’t say I don’t believe her, if you look at my original post I say that both of these people will destroy each other, JB because he is a pervert and BL because she has committed career suicide with her own actions, which have nothing to do with what happened on set (only probably not career suicide because her dragons will swoop in and save her no doubt).

Being a victim does not prevent someone from being a complete arsehole and pretending otherwise doesn’t really help anyone.

Besides this is all a PR war at this point isn’t it, the courts will see the actual evidence and make the decisions regardless of what anyone of this thread says .

Oh, will the court case be looking at actual evidence that Blake Lively is a dick? Or is that a narrative that is now just accepted?

And if you can't discredit a woman by saying she's drunk or mentally ill or lying because the man rejected her or gave consent (at age 11), and nobody is going to believe she's in it for the money or for attention, then you can always fall back on the classic "well she's a bitch" or indeed "she is a dick". As you say, it is always easy to find a reason why a woman is a dick if you want to, so if you recognise that people are looking for a reason not to give a shit, telling them the woman is a dick is a good strategy.

She’s definitely a Mean Girl.

Is it ok to sexually harass “‘mean girls”
then?

whether you like her personally, whether you think she’s arrogant/insensitive/tone deaf whatever…none of that makes it ok for a man to kiss and touch her intimately without her consent.

And if you do have a negative impression of her personally, given that you sure as hell don’t actually know her, maybe consider why and where you’ve got that negative impression from. Particularly in circumstances where there is evidence - actual proof - of JB paying a PR firm to “bury her”.

ChateauMargaux · 23/01/2025 08:36

You said "it's scary to think how many cases that can't be proved have destroyed men's lives.".... there are far far more women's lives who have been destroyed by men who do things across the spectrum from talking over women, taking opportunities to touch them, saying things that seem innocuous all the way to killing them in 'consensual sex games' that go wrong.

I believe her.

Women who do expose violent relationships and the very tiny number of women who falsely accuse men, receive much more press coverage and harsher sentences than men who sexually harass and rape.

SecretSoul · 23/01/2025 08:28

I watched the entire Depp/Heard trial and have done plenty of reading through the evidence available. I'm honestly amazed that anyone thinks that AH is an innocent victim. JD didn't cover himself in glory either - they were awful together - but she was a very long way from being the injured party.

I didn't have an opinion on either JD or AH prior to the trial; if anything I would have been more naturally inclined to sympathise with the woman. But I was honestly and genuinely appalled at AH's behaviour. Probably more so than JD because he was fairly open about his difficulties whereas she repeatedly lied (objectively proven) and tried to depict herself as being completely innocent which was patently never the case.

FWIW the trial in the UK was whether the media had libelled him based on the evidence they had presented to them at the time. Bearing in mind the evidence was self-reported claims from AH which were later debunked, the verdict was hardly surprising. The trial in the UK was NOT about whether JD abused AH - it was whether the paper had reported facts, as they were presented to them at the time.

Women like AH cause problems for other women who have been genuinely abused. We have such an uphill battle to be taken seriously with vile cretins like Andrew Tate gaining in popularity, the last thing we need is women like AH the credibility of female victims.

I don't know enough about what's going on with Blake Lively and JB. I agree that being difficult at times historically hasn't helped her and makes any smear more likely to stick. It seems as if she has misremembered exactly what was said on the whole "you smell good" incident which won't help her either. I believe that JB's side are saying that Blake's side have doctored the texts which seems a bit far-fetched but in the current digital climate, who knows?!

I prefer to stick to the facts rather than slavish and baseless support so I'll do some proper reading on this when I get the chance and see what the evidence shows.

However, handsy, controlling men do seem to have a habit of getting into positions of power in Hollywood so it wouldn't come as a surprise to find another name to add to the pile - but let's see.

Regardless of what turns out to be true, neither BL nor JB is coming out of this particularly well.

JaneBoleynViscountessRochford · 23/01/2025 07:25

Except that was not the context of that quote, it was ‘you should agree with me because I have powerful friends’ - not a red flag about someone at all eh?

Anyway like I say he is a sleazeball, I don’t disbelieve BL, I just think she is a dick and that made it easy to discredit her.

I am certainly seeing an Amber Heard likeness in this case

to the way they have both been dismissed because they are not perfect victims and up against the powerful film industry which is happy to ignore women’s suffering for money

After reading the NYT article, the fact that so many cast members stand with her, JB's and Heath's reported behavior while they claim to be some religious "feminists" Behind the Facade: Cult-like Tendencies in the Baha'i Faith : r/exbahai plus the fact that Sony picked her cut over JBs and Heath's, more firmly plants me on BL's side. I don't have to be a fan of hers to do so. I just feel she has been wronged here. Someone saw those "men" walk into her dressing room, saw Heath watch her as she stood half nude getting body paint wiped off as he leered, and also heard/saw their comments about non-consensual sex acts. Not even the book's author, or many cast members would promote the film with JB/Heath. They use their religion to say, "We are for women." Yeah, heard that before from other cults.

Unfortunately it is never going to happen. It's all too easy to get the world to hate women it seems.
