To think Trump will declare himself as a God?

2025ohdear · 22/01/2025 13:24

He seems to be edging closer to being the second coming or a new God. His anger at religious leaders having a platform to call him out is something he would want to shut down. Said God spared him etc

Would this actually surprise anyone?

He wouldnt be satisfied with declaring himself a god, the Almighty, in person on bended knee, would be the only acceptable affirmation.

Words · 24/01/2025 18:29

He already has.

Coolasfeck · 24/01/2025 12:25

Those who voted for him deserve everything coming to them even if it includes having to workship him and accept his sons as rulers dynasty fashion. I feel very sorry for those who didn’t vote for him. See below.

Impact Of Donald Trump’s Tax Proposals by Income Group

Former President Donald Trump has proposed a wide variety of tax policy changes.

Taken together, these proposals would, on average, lead to a tax cut for the richest 5 percent of Americans and a tax increase for all other income groups.

If these proposals were in effect in 2026, the richest 1 percent would receive an average tax cut of about $36,300 and the next richest 4 percent would receive an average tax cut of about $7,200. All other groups would see a tax increase with the hike on the middle 20 percent at about $1,500 and the increase on the lowest-income 20 percent of Americans at about $800.

I'm not sure that would bother Trump

That was also my concern

Ordained by God in the way royals declared in history. He has already said God saves him for a reason so I can see Trump declaring he was ordained.

I believe he organised the shooting.

I thought the whole "god saved me from the assassination so that I could save America" thing was funny.

Why wouldn't god just save him from getting shot at all.

Well to be fair, god did a great job in the healing of the ear. Miraculous 🤣

It's about time that Trump derangement syndrome was officially recognised and treatment such as laying down in a quiet room and comforted with 'There, there, tell us where the orange man hurt you and we'll make it all better!'

Indeed.

You sound fairly unhinged yourself. Plenty of people express thanks to god for their current position including the King of England and the Pope.
In answer to your question no I don't believe Trump will declare himself to be God.

How rude.

Who is the King of England?

And why wouldn't God choose a three times married, racist, rapist who's already made $50 billion since becoming president, as the saviour of humanity!

Imagine how bad the options were when they elected him as the lesser evil.

Americans are anything but stupid. They were trying to influence the electorate by using celebrities to vote against their basic interests and needs. At least I am glad the myth of the influencers has been corrected. Cancel culture is in the bin and other insane things have been diminished to the point of being shelved completely.

I am avoiding coverage of US politics, Trump in particular, at the moment and for the next 4 years - unless a miracle happens and somebody sane somehow becomes President in that time (not holding my breath for that). Although I don't think Trump would declare himself God, I do firmly believe that he is ready to establish a hereditary dictatorship and that the US is screwed.

Edited

Is someone with dementia more sane?

Serpentstooth · 22/01/2025 19:07

He'll divorce Melania and marry a palomino pony intending to breed a race of bigly beautiful centaurs. Makes as much sense as any of the other crap he spouts.

You need to go and hang out on some of the MAGA web spaces, they have been calling him the second coming for years.

It is quite scary and very blasphemous.

The messiah complex is hardly unique to Trump. Many politicians and billionaires lose sight of the difference between themselves and God. See also:

I worked with a woman who would say that "God saved the last sirloin at the butcher shop" for her (and she was totally serious). I would have thought that God had more important things to worry about, but what do I know?
🤔

Maybe that's why there's so many wars and bad things happening in the world, because He's too busy checking out the stock at the local butcher's shops to notice.

Barron always looks sad. The poor kid needs to go to college, take a break from both his parents and discover life.

Agreed. I find Barron the least worrying member of the Family Trump and feel rather sorry for him.

Wouldn’t surprise me with all the Christ-like poses he keeps striking, the daft apeth

He was moved away from Washington last time

I think he has been quite well protected given the circumstances

he is like his mother she doesn’t show much emotion she is European not American , I don’t think he looks arrogant he is a very young adult with the world watching him trying to look composed

I think we can all have those moments where we think that a "higher being" is looking out for us. I know that in desperate times I have prayed to God and I'm not religious, don't go to church although I do find it quite calming being in a place of worship.

When my son was 18 he could have never withstood the public spotlight. It's a lot to expect from a young person.

I do wonder if Melania worries about him being physically close to his father in public in the event there's another assassination attempt.
