I just don't get how he's President again.
Has he not been convicted of a crime?

Two laughing reacts to this, it was a genuine question.

it’s funny to see the lefties losing their mind.

Only 4 hours to go and good riddance to the Bidens

Selfish old Joe nutmegged Harris.

Backed by Obama and Jill.

.. and again, this had only happened where the perpetrators are Asian? Or is it just that these are the only ones that her the media coverage ?

Just to remind you that the Tories were in power for large swathes of this, so not sure why it’s being pinned on Labour alone ?

It has happened in Labour constituencies and labour councillors and Mo’s have been involved and been complicit.
Is your belief that these monsters’ crimes should be ignored until we can ensure no one from other ethnicities rape young girls?

I grew up in Rotherham, in an area of it that was particularly plagued by this. In my class were girls who were victims of it, children who were products of their mums being victims of it in the 80’s and children who went on to have dads and brothers arrested for it or were arrested/ accused of it themselves.

We had a councillor who was accused of it whose daughters, with whom he has very close relationships with, work in victim support, with access to his victims details/ accusations etc.

The situation in Rotherham is horrendous. And people like you are the exact reason it has been going on in broad day light for 40 years.

Ultimately he won the election. Insulting the electorate isn't helpful.

There are lots of things i dislike about trump but I understand why people voted for hiim. Equally there are somethings I like about him. Dancing to the village people is one. Rolling back the damage to women's rights from trans ideology is another

So you are able to overlook that he is a sex offender and convicted fellon, that he's racist and that he incited the storming of the capitol, because he danced to the village people and has a policy on trans that you like? 🙄

And stopping women accessing safe abortions, contraception, and healthcare - what a great advocate of women’s rights

Because they’ve been covered up and colluded in by a complicit Labour Party and hundreds of professionals across the board while they professed to be there to protect those very girls.

"The public have voted. And they think you are wrong"

In fairness a pretty high percentage of Trump supporters also believe that the last election was stolen, that Hillary Clinton is a blood sucking pedophile, and that if homosexuals pray hard enough they can 'pray the gay away' so I'm not sure that 'they voted for him' is evidence of rational thought on behalf of the electorate. (The same supporters incidentally who think that those of us who acknowledge that gender identity is not always congruent with biological sex are mentally fucked, yet are deeply comfortable with believing in lizard people and Trump being specially anointed by god).

Ultimately he won the election. Insulting the electorate isn't helpful.

I am American and from NY . The intolerance of the left ? You need to research exactly why Trump is so disliked . For starters his family have been cheats and known racists . They would hire contractors and not pay them . They refused to rent their property to black people . Trump took out a full size ad that accused falsely 5 innocent young black men . His behaviour has always been disgusting . He went on to ogling young women at his beauty pageants and making very inappropriate comments to young girls . One was 10 ! He has been repeatedly investigated for tax evasion and fraud and found guilty in one case on 34 counts He has been investigated for sexual assault and found guilty . He has repeatedly used highly offensive and blatantly false talk and accusations about Obama’s true citizenship . He repeatedly uses inflammatory lies and exaggerations in a profuse way that has never been done before . Trump is the first President to be a convicted felon . His policies and appointments have led to women’s bodies no longer having body autonomy and banning of books that are considered classics . Trump has created a divide in America like no other President has before ! All with lies and exaggerations of truth that his naive and for the most part not well educated supporters fall for . So yes , many blue states do have little patience for those who support him .

Shame for you and your kangaroo courts he won then, isn't it.

Yes they do,that's why senile old Biden let hairy assed men into womens sports and women's bathrooms and women's changing rooms.

It's perfectly possible to dislike both Biden and Trump.

Biden was the lesser of two evils.

Yes, but it's pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. Paid some hush money to a woman he slept with. And the US Constitution doesn't preclude you from being president if you have a criminal record.

He got voted in because people in the US are absolutely sick and tired of all the far-left activism resulting in things like women's sports being compromised by AMAB athletes, puberty blockers for children, pronoun policing, endless protests and riots, cancel culture, etc. Rightly or wrongly, it's just way too extreme for most people. And the left haven't helped themselves by being totally intolerant of every Trump voter and painting every one as a racist bigot. Some are, of course, but others are small business owners who need the kind of regulations that Republicans espouse, some aren't very knowledgeable, some prefer the religiousness of the Republicans, lots of reasons. It's worth knowing that a few short decades ago, the Republican party was nothing like today's party. It was much more moderate. So you'll get those party faithfuls voting, too. They're voting for old Republican principles like low government interference in people's lives, low corporate taxes to let businesses flourish, etc. and not necessarily for Trump.

The thing about women's sport really matters because those athletic scholarships are worth hundreds of thousands in fees, and the high level of college sports often leads to big things, like the Olympics and world champs and then valuable sponsorships and endorsements. It's not like being benched from the University of East Anglia's netball team. (No offence to them!)

I'm British but live in the US, in a blue state. I'm not a citizen so can't vote. I would never vote for Trump, but I don't automatically think that every Trump voter is the soul of evil either, and I can tell you that everyone I know in this deeply blue state does. The intolerance of the left has a lot to answer for in this.

Sexual abuse is not minor.

Please do not minimise.

Do you or game of phones live in the US? If not, how can you be so adamant that you are so right.

And even if you are right, which you’re not, it doesn’t matter. The public have voted. And they think you are wrong.

Do you think the public who voted for Brexit were right?

He’s ONLY interested in sharing information in Asian gangs … not any other groups of sex offenders. Where is his outrage at the group of white men from round here who raped a 14 year old girl?

If he was really concerned he would be highlighting all this behaviour, not just ones based on skin tone.

Because they’ve been covered up and colluded in by a complicit Labour Party and hundreds of professionals across the board while they professed to be there to protect those very girls.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 20/01/2025 10:41

Because he is uninformed and racist.

He could not give a fuck about the victims, he just wants to stir up hatred and civil unrest.

The victims of the rape gangs endured unimaginable torture. Some of those little girls are now dead, some suffered life-changing injuries. Is it so unimaginable that Musk is a human being and a father genuinely upset by what he has seen or is is it just that certain people need to make him the real evil bogeyman out to stir up trouble, it's easier than confronting what the need to feel like a liberal lefty has allowed to happen?

I think he will change the law so that he never has to leave the White House again and who will stop him when he has the law makers in his pocket?
I genuinely fear civil war in America when he does this. He is completely amoral with nobody to stop him targeting any dissenters and imprisoning them. Once you control the law you can do as you want.
Then there are his violent supporters who will be happy to kill anyone Trump bad mouths on social media.
I foresee an underground resistance movement similar to occupied France in WW2.
I feel so sorry for Americans who didn’t vote for this sociopath.

I think you will find that the violence comes from the Democrats. I haven’t seen anyone taking pot shots at sleepy joe and his harridan of a wife.

Always fun to see the Trump Derangement Syndrome come out to play on Mumsnet threads. The level of hysteria fumes generated should be harnessed as a source of renewable energy to power the grid 😅

Renewable energy is woke! You're supposed to drill baby drill, and mine that sweet clean coal.

'Anyone who criticises Trump or calls him a fascist, including highly respected members of his own previous administration, is mentally ill'.

Is that about it?

You appreciate that saying things like that makes YOU sound like you have some sort of 'derangement syndrome'? Like the sort of mental fuckery that happens when you join a cult.

He’s bringing attention to rape gangs operating with impunity around the UK. Why is that an issue for you?"

"Because he is uninformed and racist.

But would you agree that the publicity Musk generated has led to the implementation of one of the recommendations from the Jay inquiry (which Prof Jay herself has said) or led to the agreement by Labour for a further local inquiry backed by central government (which Chris Bryant Labour Minister also confirmed on Question Time last week).

Or do you think that Prof Jay and Chris Bryant are also uniformed and racist?
