Fucking door knocking charity callers. Why is it allowed? It’s intrusive and I bloody hate it.

Pink deodorant - always cloying and horribly floral.

Having to refill rinse aid

I think the menopause is hitting hard today.

WhatsApp groups with people saying silly things for attention, combined with crying laughing emojis and serious information for work. Light-hearted but they are winding me up. Also family WhasApp groups. Just having a rant, but they are driving me crazy.

Articles in the tabloids about "eleventy six miles of snow covering the UK, 48 hour snow bomb!" How many times has any of that ever actually come to pass?

AntiSocialSocialClub93 · 04/02/2025 19:33

parents/ carers who bring their snively, runny-nosed toddlers to playgroup when they’re ruddy well clearly contagious still!!

People who just do not care what their cats are doing to wildlife and the ecosystem.
They are genuinely doing serious damage and owners need to start taking responsibility.
It is NOT, in any way, natural, part of the "circle of life", nor is it adorable.

Yesterday driving home -in the dark- two cars were without lights , their drivers blithely ignoring the other cars flashing or tooting at them.

I don;t want to ban cars but c'mon , we should be able to ban drivers who are completely clueless to their surroundings and other cars

Dogs and children at farmers markets. DH and I were at one on Saturday. Dogs everywhere, mostly on leads I concede, but still barking and jumping up. And small children meandering around getting in the way everywhere. First, a dog jumped up on DH and the owner did that pathetic, "oh, hee hee, sorry" whilst expecting us to worship her mutt (I told him he ought to have screamed at the top of his voice!). Then a child dropped his bike and it hit me on the leg - the parent did a pathetic "oh, Nathan, watch the lady". I did say "Ow" quite loudly to no avail but then just gave up and we went home.

People eating whilst walking around the supermarket

Plastic grass

People who are unable to use their car indicators

Yes yes yes to number 3!
I’d say about a third of people don’t bother to indicate - rising to 97% if you’re a taxi driver.

People who hate cats

I hate that cats scare the garden birds. It used to bring me a lot of joy to watch the birds at my feeder.

I am watching Dexter (so far on series 2). I would like to ban female actresses who stand around with their mouths open. It isn’t sexy, it looks as though they have adenoid trouble.

CruCru · 21/01/2025 14:17

People who stand in a group on the travelator between the northern and Central lines at Bank station. Particularly when they are nowhere near 30.

Shops (Boots, I'm looking at you) who have all the perfume ) smelly stuff at the entrance of the shop. It's my closest pharmacy and I hate having to hold my breath and walk though it (I have asthma, certain strong smells are a trigger)

CruCru · 20/01/2025 18:35

People who are kind enough to hand down things (clothes, toys) to your children but are then appalled when, years later, they are no longer in use. That t shirt was lovely but it was for a child aged 7 and my child is now 12.

I hate this too! I'm quite sensitive to the smell of smoke and it often makes me feel nauseous when someone walks past me with the strong "just smoked" smell. At least try and mask it with some chewing gum or a spritz of perfume or something. Sometimes I feel like I'm trapped in the 70's or whenever when smoking in offices workplaces was still very socially acceptable. If you have several colleagues coming back in at the same time with that smokey fog around then, I literally find it stomach-churning 🤢

I work in quite a large supermarket, but there are one or two customers you can smell from the far side of the shop as soon as they come in. They bring such an intense smell of cigarette smoke with them that I can only assume that they must have sat in the car right outside smoking until the very last minute before they came in.

Serving them at the kiosk can be quite a challenge, as you have to hold your breath. 20 Players Red every single day...

I'd also add to this - men (and it's usually men) who don't wash, and women (it's usually women) with continence issues, who don't realise that, yes, everyone else CAN smell you.

Scented screen wash today. Im allergic to scent, perfume, candles, air fresheners you name it makes my lips and tongue swell.

I bought what I thought was unscented but realised I got sucked in by the -25 degrees label as I’ve got to go to France in March so thought good I’ll get that one not realising it stinks. Now I have to remember to put the air in the car on recycle before I squirt the windows. Arghhhhhh, I’ll never remember!

Do you mean the stuff you pour into your windscreen washer reservoir to help clean the windscreens? You get a whiff of it when you pour it in and then a little bit if you spray loads onto the screen.
I never knew you could get scented stuff! You must be very sensitive. Life must be tricky cos those scents are all over the place.

Sacredhandbag · 20/01/2025 10:58

I can't believe I'm only thinking of this one now, probably because it's winter, but it's one of my top 5 pet hates.

People that totally overreact to the presence of wasps or bees.

These people drove me mad. You're sitting in a pub garden having a nice chat with a friend, an adult, in her fucking 30s probably, and suddenly she starts making stupid noises and flapping around, knocking the drinks over and generally being really overdramatic and irritating because a wasp came within 5 feet of her

Honestly, it's pathetic the way some people act around them. Just swat the damn things away and get on with your life. I have used this method my entire life and have never once been stung.

Adverts that are unnecessarily aggressive.

People who invite you to a thing but are then quite put out when, despite having a lot of notice, you aren’t able to make it.
