Neighbour has been unwell with flu . Just rang and asked her if she needed any shopping . Gave me a short list including washing liquid . She asked for the Persil " non binary one " . 😁 She knows i am posting and wants to read the responses to cheer her up .

I hope.your neighbour feels better soon and had a laugh at the thread. Flu is awful, so any laughs are good.

diddl · 09/01/2025 16:07

I think that Persil has a different name in France doesn't it?

Reminds me of the time ny mum was reading my ds a story - he was then aged about 5. Instead of Organism she accidentally said Orgasm!

Our biology teacher had concentrated so hard, over almost two years of curriculum, on saying 'organism' , when we got to sexual reproduction she couldn't bring herself to say 'orgasm'.

I did something like that once, described DS's school as bisexual, unlike DD's school which only has girls.

When I was growing up, I remember my dad used to refer to anyone bisexual as 'ambidextrous'

Shea butter I'm guessing

Yes

stickygotstuck · 09/01/2025 15:34

@Hoppinggreen , I do take exception at that 😉- pine nuts are lovely!

They do taste like pine resin though 🤔. But I like that! (unlike radioactivity, I have tasted pine resin)

This has caused me distress and discomfort because I don’t understand the question. 😉

A babygro, which to be fair looked like a bag..😂

My parents always called babygros "grow bags" which caused some confusion when I had DC and the brand Grobag had become popular!

When I was.about ten i remember screaming in public 'mummy! Daddy is MOLESTING ME!'

I'm still not quite sure what i thought that meant (i think just teasing?) but that could have gone very wrong 😬

murasaki · 09/01/2025 15:10

Asaparagus wee smell, both the generation thereof and the ability to smell it are also potentially genetic. Odd. And people don't always get both apparently.

BotterMon · 09/01/2025 15:10

My transphobic septic tank can only process non-binary washing powder/liquid.

wastingtimeonhere · 09/01/2025 15:09

WoolySnail · 09/01/2025 14:09

What did they mean? Because you can get a baby gro bag which is like a sleeping bag with a top, but I'm assuming they didn't mean one of those? 😀

stickygotstuck · 09/01/2025 14:42

@EdgeofSeventy , yes, I've heard that. My niece feels exactly the same, which makes me think it could be genetic too.

I believe it's similar with celery, which I find mild and inoffensive, while DH thinks it's bitter and the spawn of Satan, and can detect it in soups a mile off.

I cannot tolerate rocket. I know it's meant to be a bit bitter, but to me it tastes radioactive. Really disagrees with me too.

(Edited to say, I don't really know what radioactivity tastes like, obviously!)

Edited

Pine nuts taste burnt to me

People can have a laugh its not a crime.
Not everything is an offence.

Apparently it is, several posts have been deleted.

WorthyBiscuit · 09/01/2025 15:04

My son also identifies with non-binary laundry detergent as the gender specific type makes his skin itch. Grin

Ha! Reminds me of my students' typos of 'organism' and 'public'...

And a student who wrote about the Large 'Hardon' Collider, complete with a superb (slightly phallic-esque) diagram of the Large Hadron Collider.

I could do with a lie down with a couple of paramedics, to be honest. 😂😂😂

Couldn't we all?! 🤣

ladyofshertonabbas · 09/01/2025 14:45

Cracking up! Get well soon.

Surely this is a malapropism: she must have meant non bio?

You think 🤣🤣🤣

You and me both, but these days we'd have to wait a couple of days before they showed up. Oh well, back to the paracetamol it is ☺️

nonbinaryfinery · 09/01/2025 14:43

Hahahahahaha

I made a similar joke at one point this is great
