My kids and I did loads of outings, trips away with our youth group etc.

My husband used to work weekends and had less annual leave than I did so the kids and I had lots of fun without him.

Barrenfieldoffucks · 09/01/2025 08:29

Of course I do 😂 I have 3 kids, and a husband who works...

As do I. He also takes the kids out for days out when I'm busy.

standardduck · 09/01/2025 08:29

Yes, I am on maternity leave at the moment and my DH works long hours so I do trips during the week with my toddler (day trips & did a couple of overnight trips on our own).

HappyMamma2023 · 09/01/2025 08:29

Yes quite often, but we only have 1 child so far. And hes only 20 months and no bother. But I think it's more fun meeting up with friends and toddler group mums too.

Showerflowers · 09/01/2025 08:28

Not just my dc but my grandchildren too

User74893677 · 09/01/2025 08:28

What a weird question.

Ineedanewsofa · 09/01/2025 08:27

I do and DH does, often we split half term weeks so we aren’t burning through holiday allowance so do at least one solo trip each then (plus places like Alton Towers/Drayton Manor are a waste of money for me as I hate rollercoasters so DH and DC go without me 🤣)

Loads

Tia86 · 09/01/2025 08:26

Depends on age of the children. I wouldn't do a theme park without a second adult as my youngest isn't tall enough and my eldest wouldn't always want to ride alone, but I would take my mum if my partner wasn't available.

I also didn't do cinema trips alone when mine were little in case one needed the toilet and we would all have had to leave.

Whatsitreallylike · 09/01/2025 08:26

Yes if I needed too and that was the only option. We usually go out on big days as a family though, like nights away and holidays etc... wouldn't hesitate to take them to the zoo or equal during the week on my own though

WhamHamThankYouSpam · 09/01/2025 08:25

Yep - single parent here, so I take my kids everywhere on my own! Camping trips, Disneyland Paris, all over the UK.

Big days out would tend to be things we do as a family at a weekend so I suppose on that basis I would say no. But if husband wasn't available or didn't want to come then yes I would.
Why is this a question?

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 09/01/2025 08:23

Of course I do! I've done a hotel stay and theme park alone with my son. Me and his Dad are together now and have another baby but i wouldn't hesitate to take my 2 away by myself if I ever needed to

MiddleagedBeachbum · 09/01/2025 08:23

Errr yes!

Pepla · 09/01/2025 08:22

Why wouldn’t I?

Unhealthy · 09/01/2025 08:21

Single parents exist, so yes, I assume many do.
