How would you pronounce the 'name' Eieoie?

I'd pronounce you insane if you chose a name like that.

Monty27 · 09/01/2025 03:55

Isn't there a donkey by that name?

AtomHeartMotherOfGod · 09/01/2025 01:51

By saying the following letter names, but I have no idea:

AEOE

Bowies · 09/01/2025 01:18

Yes I would have pronounced this correctly… BUT it felt like I had to study it longer than I would want to and would be only 80% confident it was correct.

Iona would be far simpler and there is very little difference.

GustyGertie · 08/01/2025 23:52

Male or female version?

WellsAndThistles · 08/01/2025 23:16

Old MacDonald had a farm, Eieoie Eieoie Oh.

Aydel · 08/01/2025 23:13

It translates roughly in Romanian to “Is the blouse a blouse?”

Romanian is the third most spoken language in the U.K.

My daughter has an Irish name that is actually not 'confusing' to the English in terms of spelling / phonetics.

People still get it wrong NON STOP.

Because, as you can see from just this thread, they are morons.

Yes
(It's Hawaiian according to Translate)

Barney16 · 08/01/2025 22:38

Susan, because my mum and dad gave me this really weird name and everyone at school laughed at me and sang old McDonald when I walked passed so I changed it by deed poll.

Ask an Irishman?

Tell me you’re ignorant and xenophobic without saying ‘I’m ignorant and xenophobic’.

HugoYorway · 08/01/2025 20:59

FozzieP · 08/01/2025 20:47

Ask an Irishman?

It's insulting and shows ignorance.
