Would you give this to your partner if that is what he wants?

Would you send a naked photograph to your partner if he asked?
Just that really. I am not sure if this is the norm between couples. Mine has asked but I'm not sure if I should or not.

How do you feel?
Would you or have you?

Not in a million month of Sundays would I let my partner/husband have a naked photo of me. (I would never let him take one - or take one myself.) Not even my for my DH of 30+ years would I do this for. NEVER. You don't know if your relationship is going to fall through. He could use them photos against you/to hurt you.

Not sure whether I should pick YABU or YANBU though!

Planesmistakenforstars · 06/01/2025 20:54

No, never. I would not consider it.

It's surprising how many people think their lives would be ruined if a nude pic of them got around. I doubt you're of such importance that anyone would recognise you, let alone care.

NoBodyIdRatherBe · 06/01/2025 20:46

No, I’m too prudish. But it’s completely normal thing to do if you want to, you trust your partner and you won’t be too upset if it surfaces one day.

DisforDarkChocolate · 06/01/2025 20:44

Nope, never. Once it's sent you have no control over the use of that picture.

That’s because I am right on this. You have double standards. You’re entitled to your opinion and I am mine.

Doodleflips · 06/01/2025 20:41

Teanbiscuits33 · 06/01/2025 20:40

So why did you pull me up on it then? It’s my opinion. You didn’t preface your opinion with ‘I don’t think’ either. So you’re allowed to state things as fact but I’m not? I think it’s damn bloody obvious that my post was my opinion from the context of the topic. If I’m not bothered by someone’s comment then I just scroll on.

I think it’s sleazy because in my experience it’s objectifying. You think differently. Let’s leave it at that.

by the way, I realised after I posted that that poster wasn’t you.

Zone2NorthLondon · 06/01/2025 20:40

No never have,never will
Once sent you’ve no control whatsoever who sees it, how he stores it. What if you fall out? Revenge porn. What if he shares with mates?

HollyKnight · 06/01/2025 20:40

By "partner" do you mean someone you've shared a life with for 10 years, or just a boyfriend you met 3 months ago?

Teanbiscuits33 · 06/01/2025 20:40

Doodleflips · 06/01/2025 20:33

You’re actually not replying to me now. That last comment was from someone else.
That is a massive and very wrong assumption. I don’t find it sleazy, and I have done it, and would do it again, and I am
not remotely bothered on your opinion of me.
I don’t take the comments of random strangers personally, that’s not my way.

CoffeeCakeAndALattePlease · 06/01/2025 20:37

Fully naked - no.
In lingerie - yes, but not so that it’s identifiably me.

Only to DH though, I never would have with a boyfriend.

Sedgwick · 06/01/2025 20:36

No.

Doodleflips · 06/01/2025 20:33

Teanbiscuits33 · 06/01/2025 20:17

It’s obvious to most people that it’s a personal opinion in this context though, as ‘’sleazy’’ is a subjective word. So I’m not allowed to state an opinion without saying ‘’I think’’ but you’re allowed to say ‘’it’s not sleazy at all’’ instead of ‘’I don’t think it’s sleazy at all’’ Hmm, are you stating facts or opinion? Double standards there 🤣

I suspect I bothered you by calling it sleazy because it’s something you do and you take it personally when someone says anything negative. It’s the only reason you would be so bothered about what someone else thinks.

Kitchenspade · 06/01/2025 20:31

Nope. Been married 17 years. Have 4 kids. Trust him with my life. But would never do that. It can end up in anyone's hands, and I don't mean he gives it out on purpose. Phones/laptops/things get stolen and lost also. If you break up he might use it against you.

FirstOfTheFirst · 06/01/2025 20:30

I wouldn't send anything that would distress me if it ended up being seen by friends, family, strangers.

lennasten · 06/01/2025 20:29

It's not the sort of thing DH has ever asked and I'd be surprised if he ever did. But I'd be quite happy to if he asked, I've had lots of nude photos taken of myself (in an art context) and been a life drawing model and have been nude in public before. So it's not something that particularly bothers me, and although I wouldn't choose to put it on a public platform, if it got leaked I'd just shrug.

Stuffisperplexing · 06/01/2025 20:29

Mmhmmn · 06/01/2025 20:26

Or better, they should be taught not to do it in the first place.

Why is this better? Sure teach them to make good decisions but they'll inevitably sometimes make wrong calls. It's just prudery ruining young lives.

Mmhmmn · 06/01/2025 20:26

Stuffisperplexing · 06/01/2025 20:19

Teens should be taught not to be ashamed when this happens to them.

Or better, they should be taught not to do it in the first place.

TwoToe · 06/01/2025 20:25

Nope.

once you’ve sent it you have no control.

have boundaries.

Mmhmmn · 06/01/2025 20:24

No. Why would you?

SizzlingPrickle · 06/01/2025 20:24

Stuffisperplexing · 06/01/2025 20:14

The reason it bothers me to read the "no never you'd just have to die if it ever got out" is that these attitudes contribute to people feeling their lives are over if a nude picture becomes public.

It absolutely doesn't matter.

I would be very upset about it.. some people are paid good money to have pics taken in their underwear and I did it for free 😂

Anyway the actual real life risk of any pics being leaked must be so minimal. Also nobody at my work knows what I look like under my cardi and black trousers so how TF would they be able to fire me.

@Hoplolly sorry, I just realised you’re a different poster. The point still stands though. I hope you preface all of your future posts on here with ‘’I think’’ without fail, no matter the context.

Barney16 · 06/01/2025 20:23

No, because phones get hacked and nothing on the internet ever truly deleted.

Howdoyoudodoyoudo · 06/01/2025 20:23

I’ve done it loads with my husband! He’s done it with me too . He has a folder of photos on his phone! I trust him , if they somehow got hacked / stolen etc I wouldn’t be ashamed - they were sent within a loving , safe marriage. I wouldn’t be ashamed . It’s not like I’ve taken them to post for anyone to see.

I have been married for 10 years though , I wouldn’t have done it with a new partner .
