Why the "of course"

It's Sunday. Most people don't work on Sundays..

Sorry if you are working today

Don't be. I'm not an office bod. Most people I know DO work Sundays. Tbh

Darby3785 · 29/12/2024 18:32

I'm currently off work. DH went back to work yesterday and is not off until NYE now but I'm back at work then. Family days last week and a nice walk with DH

I have been into town to have a look at the sales but there was nothing. Today ive done a bit of housework and cooked tea.

Tomorrow i think ill go for a walk via a coffee shop (and maybe Sainsbury's😂)

CoffeeCakeAndALattePlease · 29/12/2024 18:25

loads of laundry as I’ve neglected it over Christmas. Bit supermarket shop for proper food as we’re now fed up of picky bits.

trying to keep the kids calm who are tired, overstimulated and bored despite having loads of new things 🙄

LyndaSnellsSniff · 29/12/2024 18:21

I forgot the best bit: recycling bins were emptied today! Hurrah!

trader21c · 29/12/2024 18:04

Working - half a day from home today then four shifts!

Barney16 · 29/12/2024 17:57

Been to the sales. Compulsory tea and cake in JL. Going to start cooking a new recipe shortly.

Thepurplepig · 29/12/2024 17:55

Arguing with lunatics on the internet mainly. It’s time to get dressed and go outside.

ohyesido · 29/12/2024 17:54

Forced ourselves out into London for a long walk.

Now on the couch waiting for my oven chips to be ready while my DH and BIL play Call of Duty. They're intermittently pausing to ask me if the chips are done.

marshmallowfinder · 29/12/2024 17:53

Bear, not bare. Keep your clothes on, OP.

Printedword · 29/12/2024 17:50

Sunday quite busy for us. Singing group in church this morning. DS revising for exams and working on uni coursework. DH cleaning and me defluffing vacuum roller, recycling, bedding change.

Yesterday, shopping then visit to SIL for dinner and gift exchanging.

Cinema trip planned before new year and walks etc. DS meeting friends when not studying

Hugmorecats · 29/12/2024 17:48

Took the kids swimming and since then have been doing a mix of endless cleaning/washing/cooking and reading in the moments in between when they’re watching videos and give me a little peace. Expecting the next few days before school starts to be similar, as there are few indoor places to go here and it’s usually cold and wet out

socks1107 · 29/12/2024 17:48

Worked, packed away all the Christmas stuff and had an afternoon in the pub.
Work as normal tomorrow

LyndaSnellsSniff · 29/12/2024 17:47

We've visited a couple of National Trust houses, walked into town for a hot chocolate, had my nails done and had a facial. Started my new jigsaw. Might venture up to London tomorrow but we need to fit in a food shop too. I'm meeting a friend for lunch and cinema on New Year's Eve but nothing planned for the actual event (we're pretty antisocial).

RM2013 · 29/12/2024 17:44

We have visited family and had guests over. I’ve been to the gym and met up with friends at the dog field as all the dogs get on. I’ve had a bit of time to chill. Back to work tomorrow

Newname71 · 29/12/2024 17:42

Fuck all! I’ve Promised myself I will do something (housework) tomorrow….. or maybe the day after 😀
Im not back to work until the 6th.

After breakfast, heading straight out for a walk with the kids. The grandparents also have a swing for the little one and the big one enjoys kicking a ball around and climbing on rocks outside. They also have a big basement with plenty of toys so that took up a fair chunk of the morning. We then did some Cosmic Kids Yoga and I did some FitnessBlender afterwards. Then shower and a bit of TV (Boss Baby 2 and Mr Tumble) before lunch. After lunch baby (well nearly 2yo) went down for his nap while the 6yo and I did some origami and then out for another walk. After the walk we worked on a big puzzle together (1000 pieces so it’s taking us a while) and read a bit. He did some colouring with his grandma too. Then we had some tea and cake and then he went to play tennis with his dad while I played with the baby. Then the big one had a bath and has just come out. The little one is watching some TV now and they’re probably about to fight over what to watch next before dinner and bed 🤣 eldest won’t sleep until 9 and the little one will be up at 6am (plus a couple of times in between…) so it’ll be an early night for us. Book, cuppa and bed 😴 and tbh this is a fairly typical day at the moment.

Cleared clothes wardrobe and chest of drawers belonging to DH and me. Nobody needs that many clothes. Got a big bag for Charity shop and a bag of rubbish.

When you go to the shops. Cinemas. Hospitality. All these people are working. Loads of people do work weekends.

SugarPlumpFairyCakes · 29/12/2024 15:31

Ill. In bed feeling miserable.

ILikeMySuitcase · 29/12/2024 15:30

Also working. First of 4 shifts

Pllystyrene · 29/12/2024 15:28

Watching films, organising the house including a a tip run, packing away Christmas, going to the gym and hanging out with my teenagers and baby!

TwinkleLights24 · 29/12/2024 15:25

I enjoyed a few chilled days after Christmas but today I’ve had more than enough of them.

MichaelaFrey · 29/12/2024 15:23

Sorting out shopping for New Year's Eve as we are hosting. Table decorations and food mostly purchased. Children have been strong-armed into cleaning the car out as it was like a mobile skip.
Tomorrow will be spent cleaning the house as we have guests arriving late evening for New Year.

Whattochoose1 · 29/12/2024 13:58

Hiding from my 5 and 3 year old.

TheScenicWay · 29/12/2024 13:21

I got a bit fed up by Friday so I set small goals for each day.
Exercise for 20 mins (usually a walk)
Spend 20 mins focussed time on each dc
20 mins reading
20 mins doing some cleaning
Do a "good deed" - that includes calling or visiting a relative, bagging up stuff for charity, put something in the food bank, hopefully I'll think of some more things.
