It’s just us at home.
I assumed there be lots of leftovers, some beef, potatoes and sprouts, but not enough for meals. We have some cheese from the cheese board, millions of crackers, some good bread, then the usual..eggs, pasta etc
Was hoping to get a few days out of not having to go to the shops and get more.
Wondering whether to just get some nice ham and have ham & mustard sandwiches, def not cooking today!

Went out to a restaurant yesterday and it was dire! So I’m doing a full on Christmas lunch today to get my fix!

luckylavender · 26/12/2024 12:24

Turkey & chips

MuddlingThroughLife · 26/12/2024 12:16

Turkey and chips!

BobbyBiscuits · 26/12/2024 12:14

Turkey and ham with slightly stale bagels and focaccia. I tried really hard not create a mountain of leftovers as we are going out tomorrow so won't be eating at all at home. But I'm gonna have to plough through a load of cold roast potatoes, flat Yorkshire puddings and sprouts! I'm quite pleased I managed to cook everything despite having a bit of a cold.

GreatBigBeautifulTommorow · 26/12/2024 12:13

Cheese board for lunch
buffet for tea
trifle later if we do fit it in.

biscuitsandbooks · 26/12/2024 12:11

No idea - we don't have any leftovers as there's only two of us, so we don't buy much. We have plenty of food in, though.

Mashroom · 26/12/2024 12:11

We go for a second Christmas dinner but I cook the veg and potatoes fresh again.

teatoast8 · 26/12/2024 12:11

Left overs

ShortyShorts · 26/12/2024 11:26

We order pizza every Boxing Day.

Not sure how it's become a 'tradition', but in the last few years it has.

That to me sounds utterly blissful.

BugsyMaroon · 26/12/2024 12:10

So far nothing because DS1 has been vomiting all morning and none of the rest of us are hungry.

We were supposed to go to mil SIL and BIL but now not (due to vomiting).

I like turning leftover roast chicken into creamy chicken crepes so those of us who can will have that. Usually boxing day we do ham and cauliflower cheese but as we were going to be out I did not get that stuff in.

livingafulllife · 26/12/2024 12:07

Ive not eaten yet but i am going to a noddle bar later.

Thelnebriati · 26/12/2024 11:54

Its cold roast beef and roast potatoes fried in butter for us today, I couldn't be happier.

Shrinkingrose · 26/12/2024 11:52

All the left overs. Turkey, stuffing, roast potatoes, veg, pigs etc, Yule log, and I’ve some canapés I didn’t cook up yesterday so will heat those through for this afternoons games.

tomorrow I will make a turkey curry with what’s left, and that will be it done.

ApolloandDaphne · 26/12/2024 11:49

Turkey sandwiches for lunch and then turkey and ham pie for dinner. Heavy inventory but that will be it now until next Christmas.

TwoSwansFromMyWindow · 26/12/2024 11:49

Cold turkey and ham, cauliflower cheese, petit pois, roast potatoes, pickles, pork pie, Danish rice pudding with almonds and cherry sauce. Chocolate bombe with salted caramel sauce in the middle. Cheese board.

slightlydistrac · 26/12/2024 11:47

We have loads of turkey and gammon left over, as well as roast potatoes, and (unbelievably), three pigs in blankets. There's also a pile of cheese, salad and goodness knows how much in the way of cakes and biscuits. So it is a help-yourself cornucopia today.

I have had to send DH out for some more milk today though.

Bookaholic73 · 26/12/2024 11:46

I was just craving a normal breakfast of toast this morning, so had that.
Lunch will probably be a chicken sandwich.

Dinner will be a Christmas Day pie.

Hollowvoice · 26/12/2024 11:46

Mac and cheese or gammon and leftovers for lunch
Cheese and puddings later

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 26/12/2024 11:45

I’m doing Christmas dinner today.

Parents coming over at 1pm.

MsXmasGGMasterTwat · 26/12/2024 11:45

We were out yesterday so no leftovers, my teens are still in bed! I'm going to make bacon sandwiches shortly - that'll get them up.

I've bought a nice curry from M&S for later. We're going for a walk to the pub mid afternoon.

JaceLancs · 26/12/2024 11:43

Just me and elderly DM today so will be leftover meat and stuffing etc but will do a fresh tray of roast root veg
We did not have any desserts yesterday so will try and fit one in today

Cherrysoup · 26/12/2024 11:42

Chicken from yesterday, probably chips. There’s a bit of cheese but we only did veg shopping this week, we already have stuff in the freezer. I’m having to do an emergency run up to mother’s because she’s been taken into hospital. I’m staying in a cheapo hotel, her place is smoke filled and I just get sick if I stay there. I’ll probably use her cooker, tho. Don’t think she’ll be out of hospital this week.

GreyBlackBay · 26/12/2024 11:42

We appear to have no food in!

Did buffet on Xmas as eve, out for xmas lunch and had the remaining buffet Xmas night.

So having mainly cheese for lunch then have dug a meal out of the freezer for tonight. I'll have to go shopping tomorrow!

I am glad to not have a ton of food lying around that needs to be eaten tbh, we don't plan our time much ahead so who knows where we'll be in the coming week.

Zanatdy · 26/12/2024 11:40

My mum always does a buffet on boxing day. So looking forward to that

StrangewaysHereWeCome · 26/12/2024 11:40

Just about to make brunch of eggs royale/Benedict. The rest of the day will be grazing on party food and chocolate received as presents.
