Christmas cancelled

Feeling very sorry for myself! Had family coming over today for Christmas, I've spent ages preparing food, games, the usual - they've cancelled last minute as they're ill.

It can't be helped and I'm not upset with the family at all, just really disappointed to be spending Christmas alone 😔

It's an odd feeling, upset but it's just one of those things. I think I'll go for a long walk and decide what I can freeze/salvage/postpone.

Sadly not, my few local friends are away seeing family- except one who I know is so happy to be having a quiet Christmas at home with her DH & kids.

I know she'd invite me but she's been so looking forward to her Christmas and it would change the day's dynamics - I'd feel a bit awkward.

Just gutted, all the effort too - I went all out!

We are similar. I'm meant to be hosting. Spent all day cooking and prepping but Dd (10) has been up all night with sickness and diarrhoea. I sent messages at around 10pm last night that we need to postpone. Not sure if I should cook the turkey tonight or freeze it. It is fresh so I suppose it could get frozen.
I'm trying not to think about all the potential food waste.

Far better than being ill. Thry are doing the rught thing. Can't you postpone it till u all well enough. What can be frozen? I think doing it later could be fun. Today, watch nice film, read, pamper yourself Maybe they would like you to drop something off for them? I'm.by.myself, through choice. Will see people on 27th
