AIBU to be absolutely fuming (lighthearted) at DH for coming home from work today then taking a 3 hour (so far) nap. 4 DC under 5 wondering when he's joining us for Christmas. Just me then!

Get him up now. This is unacceptable. The kids want him. That should mean he gets up immediately.

Vaxtable · 24/12/2024 16:46

I would have got him up after an hour, although I would have asked him not to have a nap in the first place, where is your nap in looking after 4 excited kids 7 under 5

Bananadeckchair · 24/12/2024 16:43

Nope. Normal office job. Half day today for Christmas

If he works nights, fine.

Otherwise, WTAF?

OutIsay · 24/12/2024 16:36

I'm not sure. It depends how long he has been working. If he's come off a 12 hour night shift, that's very different to a couple of extra hours work on Christmas Eve.

SometimesCalmPerson · 24/12/2024 16:31

I’m all for naps in life, but not when you have small children on Christmas Eve.

SoMauveMonty · 24/12/2024 16:29

How long was he at work, and what does he do for work? If he's just done 8 odd hours of manual labour after a stupidly early start i wouldn't begrudge a nap, but even so, 3 hours is pushing it. Can you send the dc in to rouse him?

Nc546888 · 24/12/2024 16:28

An hour would be fine.

i have two small children and am pregnant and i would be bloody fuming

Undisclosedlocation · 24/12/2024 16:27

Bloody hell! Unless he is ill, I don’t understand how your rage is lighthearted

Bananadeckchair · 24/12/2024 16:27

Woke him after an hour, he said he would be down in a minute....

Has he been drinking?

Why haven't you woken him?
