It's gorgeous!! Buy it! Then set about finding someone asap.

MrsClaw90 · 19/12/2024 15:22

absolutely not

Love the grey!

If you are slim and attractive you can carry it off. If you're on the heftier size of things and look like Les Dawson, it's best to avoid.

Howling 😂😂😂

Also my Sherri Hill graduation dress was very pretty too, I love this American designer.

This is a very famous and popular USA designer/couture gowns company who is pretty much top of the market for prom and formal dresses and makes gowns for A listers and the red carpet events.

Not sure how that compares to Chinese knockoffs.

This. They made the most beautiful prom dress for me! This was the beautiful Sherri Hill i wore as year 11 prom queen :) worth all the shipping and taxes that totalled $900. Easily the happiest day of my childhood.

You'll gain nothing from buying it and seeing it waiting in your wardrobe. Also tastes change - you might find Mr Right and realise you hate it after all.

Plus buying something you don't yet need, definitely jinxes things - that's sod's law. 😆

Shoopstoop · 19/12/2024 12:54

Ignore the vile snobby cows I bet you’d look stunning in it OP. The bodice beading reminds me of some of the heavily beaded tutus I’ve seen which is not a snide comment I love the ballet. Also the shape of the back is very elegant and I like the way the sleeve comes off the shoulder.

My sil bought a "chinese" wedding dress off ebay. It was horrible, cheap falling apart fabric, she had to get it sewn back together/shaped.

Doesn't matter what anybody else thinks, if you love it then it is your dream dress, you don't need the approval of others.

Its got a very mid century retro vibe without being 'costume' retro.

Ignore what nasty people say, I guarantee you are unlikely to love what they love either.

Purplecatshopaholic · 19/12/2024 10:00

One woman’s tacky, is another woman’s gorgeous op. Bit like with men really..

womenbite · 19/12/2024 09:58

It really reminds me of Fern Cotton's wedding dress

Thepeopleversuswork · 19/12/2024 09:03

Not my cup of tea but life is too short to worry about what other people think. Wear it if you like.

More to the point why are you worried about finding a husband? They are hugely overrated.

Lemonvalley · 19/12/2024 08:48

I love it!
I’d change the straps though.

Easipeelerie · 19/12/2024 07:26

It’s not very nice to my taste. Where it would sit on you means you’d need to be very thin and hipless, to cope with the contrast between the tight top and flared skirt.

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/12/2024 06:53

oh and no, I don’t like the dress. It looks like 2 different dresses.

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/12/2024 06:52

My dress had been used for the promotional shoot. It was just over 1/4 of the price of the rrp.

Yes.And if you’re a UK size 8 then you’d be a U.S size 4

I love buying US sized clothing.

Isnt a US 8 a UK 12?

BobbyBiscuits · 19/12/2024 01:10

It's not to my taste. The top part looks like it would be nice if the sewing was really tight and professional, and the beads/ stones were good quality. The skirt looks kind of flimsy. Like it doesn't match the top half. It's hard to judge the quality. But if you like it then you should have it. It's not hideous or anything.

Topsyturvy78 · 19/12/2024 01:03

It reminds me of a child's dressing up dress. But if you like it go for it.
