Not my thing, but the grey one looked ok.👍

Harmonypus · 29/12/2024 18:04

Definitely not my taste, but where would we be if we all had the same taste in things?

CrowleyKitten · 26/12/2024 22:14

it's not to my personal tastes, but I wouldn't describe it as tacky.

Yoonimum · 26/12/2024 21:16

Never understood looking for a wedding dress with no wedding on the horizon! If and when you do get married there will be lots of choice then. If you actually have balls to attend and like it, then buy it. What does it matter what anyone else thinks?

Its the same with pregnancy, the 'just stop trying, relax, it will happen when you least expect it' is trotted out but you CAN'T deliberately stop obsessing about something you really want thats not happening.

10 years, 1 loss, several failed ovulation inductions and IVF then after DS was born, boom surprise natural pregnancy... when we least bloody expected it in the middle of a pandemic.

Absolutely - three miscarriages, investigation galore, then the one month I was emptying out my parents house prior to selling it, busy dawn to dusk every day, DP broke his shoulder, barely see each other - that was the month I got pregnant and it succeeded. It's the frustration of being told "forget about it, it'll happen" and then that actually happening 😒Most unhelpful advice ever...

I hate all the advice to stop looking because a man will appear when you least expect it - especially because in my case, it was true. It pissed me right off - I felt hyper alert all the time and vaguely prickly and grumpy.

We were in a coach trip, and we spoke before we got on the coach. He asked to sit next to me, I said no then I remember I listened to Alanis Morissette"s song Moratorium on repeat ("I declare a moratorium on things relationship, I declare a full time out on all things commitment, I do need a breather from the flavours of entanglement") while scowling and giving off leave me alone vibes. But he was polite and smiled and was happy, and 16 years later we've 2 kids and he still dislikes Alanis Morissette.

I love the dress. I normally like a good repeating print, but the detailed bodice works for me.

RockOrAHardplace · 24/12/2024 17:03

Well I went to the wedding shops with a totally different image in my head about the dress I wanted and I was "talked into" trying a dress on that I thought was horrific...until it was on. It looked great, I didn't buy it but it broadened my horizons about what I looked good in.

You need to try the dress on......how does it feel, you will know when you put "the" dress on.

Stop looking for a man, be happy in yourself and one will come along when you least expect it - that is what happened to me!

Lampzade · 24/12/2024 02:06

Just no

Onceuponatime9 · 24/12/2024 01:11

It's obviously a matter of taste but thankfully you are not buying it so I can safely say it's awful.🤦‍♀️

Isabellivi · 23/12/2024 23:10

Very heavy busy top. I don’t like if sorry

Echobelly · 23/12/2024 22:40

The top's nice, it would look better if the skirt were ivory coloured as well, it looks a bit mismatched.

Runingoncaffeine · 23/12/2024 20:21

It’s a no from me.

TwinklyMintHelper · 23/12/2024 18:52

If you like it, have it. No one else’s opinion matters. They’re called opinions because we all have different tastes. Go on, get it. I dare you!

therewasafishinthepercolator · 23/12/2024 13:36

At first glance I thought the first image was really pretty. But close up I don't like it at all. The rainbow coloured "bejewelling" is like children's plastic jewellery. Sorry OP.

If I was 6 or had money to burn I would buy it and i would twirl and twirl and twirl. At everybody.

But as a wedding dress nope.

MillyBar · 23/12/2024 13:29

You've been watching Anna Karenina again, haven't you?

HoppingPavlova · 23/12/2024 11:23

The top is too dark for the bottom. It looks odd.

ZippyCat · 23/12/2024 05:17

It's awful

CurlyhairedAssassin · 22/12/2024 21:47

I'd get it, you would fit a LOT of toilet rolls under that.

Life's too short to satisfy the readers of The Times or the Torygraph. If you want it - buy it

What an asinine remark. Unbalanced citizen more like.

I don't read either and the OP is not asking whether to buy it but dont let that get in the way of your ideological claptrap.

thegirlwithemousyhair · 22/12/2024 15:09

I agree about jinxing it. My niece bought an expensive wedding dress for a wedding she thought would happen and it never did.

Sorry to say but yeah it is more than a little tacky....

Waitingforspring81 · 22/12/2024 14:36

Not my taste either

FestiveFruitloop · 22/12/2024 12:47

I really like the bodice, but the white skirt is a bit cheap and nasty looking, to me anyway. I love the all-grey version, though.

lover99 · 22/12/2024 09:41

Fionuala · 21/12/2024 20:52

what on earth are you thinking!!!
i've never heard of such a thing as buying wedding dress before any arrangements
get a grip please - forget it and buy some other stuff you can strut out in and meet a guy in
